Sonia Kashuk Eyelash Curler Review
Hi Everyone,
I am going to review Sonia Kashuk’s Eyelash Curler today. Before I delve into the review, I have to tell you a quick story about eyelash curlers and “The Husband.” So, I was quickly curling my eyelashes before we had to rush out for a movie a few weeks back and I usually complete this chore when “The Husband” is busy getting ready himself. As it happens, that day, he entered the room and saw me using this eyelash curler and literally jumped out of his skin 😛 He said “what, now you have started doing surgical procedures at home? What the hell is that contraption?’ :ROTFL: Oh my God, that was an eye opener (quite literally) of how ignorant men can be about the workings of the female universe! Even now, he says that “the contraption” just makes him feel really uncomfortable! Sigh…men!
Okay, now let’s get on to the review. So, here it is, the Sonia Kashuk Eyelash Curler.
Warning: Slightly picture heavy
Price:
Honestly, I don’t remember correctly, it was somewhere around 12.99 or 13.99 USD, I think!
Product Description:
This is a Limited Edition Eyelash Curler and this is what the website says:
Achieving fluttery, perfectly curled lashes is simple with this metal curler in a polished pewter finish.
My Experience with Sonia Kashuk Eyelash Curler:
Well, I have been using the QVS eyelash curler so far, so can’t really say I am an expert on lash curlers. I have long lashes, but they are poker straight and no matter how hard I try, they refuse to stay curled. I had a fantastic experience with my QVS curler and heard some great reviews about the Sonia Kashuk curler from my friends – one of them even compared it to the famous Shu Umera curler, so I picked it up the minute I spotted the last piece at Target.
Pros of Sonia Kashuk Eyelash Curler:
- The curler is pretty nicely shaped with a nice rubber pad to hold on to the lashes and curl them.
- The shape and size are perfect to fit my eye contour and the “cage” is a little bigger than the QVS one. So, that results in a pinch-free experience.
- The handles are also pretty comfortable.
Cons of Sonia Kashuk Eyelash Curler:
- I have to say I am quite disappointed with the results.
- My complaint with this curler is that it doesn’t catch hold of all the tiny lashes while curling. It curls the long and more prominent lashes very nicely, but fails to get hold of the tiny ones, the result being unevenly curled lashes. I end up with the longer lashes getting curled while the tiny ones still remain straight. It looks okay when I use a super strong mascara like the L’Oreal Volume Million after using this, but definitely not when I use the less effective/milder mascaras.
- Also, this may be my personal experience, but it makes my lashes look spiky rather than curled.
- Expensive when you look at the results.
- The effect doesn’t stay very long and my lashes are back to their straight self.
- Doesn’t “do the do” when used once or twice. I have to use it at least 3-4 times to see the results.
See the results for yourself.
Without using curler:
After using curler:
Curler + L’Oreal Volume Million Mascara:
IMBB Rating:
2/5. I am not happy with the effect, as I have to always use the L’Oreal mascara when I use this curler. I also have to use this 3-4 times on my lashes to get the best results.
Overall Verdict:
Nay for me! It may work on people who already have nice, long, flexible lashes, but not for me with stiff and straight lashes that refuse to stay curled. I am disappointed and will continue using my QVS curler till I find something better.

Love your story 🙂 it is damn hilarious.all men are like this. 😛
Yes, yes, all men are ignorant about makeup 🙂
LOL
yess..1st time it really look like surgical instrument .. lol your story is nice…\m/..u got nice effect of this tool….:)
Thanks Kalps 🙂
Ummm, nice effect yes but not worth the effort I think because I have to pump it quite a few times and then can’t use any other mascara other than the Volume Million lashes 🙁
Nice review Aarbee.
You are right it looks like a surgical instrument.!!
Men will be men .:)
haha yes absolutely, men will always be men…sigh!
LOL at the story :)! I agree with u, it kind of gives an uneven look to the lashes :(, I thought it would be great. Currently I am using TBS curler which is nice but I wanna buy Chanel one soon. I know it wont be ‘soon’ but never say never :)!
Oh is the TBS one good? Do a review on it na please! I wanna try some other curlers but definitely not something as expensive as Chanel.
Lolz! surgical instrument..! he he… too bad it didnt work. 🙁
🙁
It does work but not as much as I would like it to…and totally not worth the price.
haha the first story reminded me of the other day when my dad walked into my room while i was using my curler and went all “why are you cutting your lashes??” 😀 😀
ROFL…cutting your lashes! Now why would a pretty girl decide to cut her lashes? That is so funny Apoorva, thanks for sharing!
i totally agree with “husband”‘s knowledge of our universe..!1:):):)ROFL..!!! even im not a fan of what this curler did to your lashes..!! i guess u ve beautiful lashes and it didnt do justice to it..!!
haha, thanks a ton HGLG! Yeah my lashes pretty much behave themselves with a good curler like the QVS one 🙂
