Of late, I have been hooked onto blushes and have been trying quite a few from various brands. So, when I spotted these “bronzer/blush duos” from Sonia Kashuk, I decided to give them a try. These “bronzer/blush” duos from Sonia Kashuk come in 3 shades – Glow, Glisten and Glimmer. I picked up the shades – Glow and Glisten. Today, I am reviewing the variant “Glow.” So, read on to find out whether I liked it or not.
This hybrid texture combines all the best features of baked, powder, cream and fluid formula to easily blend, protect against dryness and deliver buildable color payoff that lasts up to 12 hours without fading.
Directions For Use:
Use a small brush apply bronzer to cheekbones, forehead, nose and chin. Next, apply blush at the apples of the cheek, swirling back toward the hairline in a circular motion. The formula is sheer and buildable so avoid color overload.
My Experience with Sonia Kashuk Glow Chic Luminosity Bronzer/Blush Duo:
Packaging: This product comes in a simple brown round case packaging. The packaging is simple yet classy. The lid closes magnetically which is good because you don’t need to fiddle around trying to pry open the lid with your nails. The lid shuts pretty well and there is no danger of the case opening.
The bronzer and the blush are housed in a single pan and are split down the middle. I love the crocodile-skin like pattern on the products though it is there purely for aesthetic reasons only. There is no mirror or brush provided and I am okay with that because most of the times I do not use them even if provided.
Color/Texture/Lasting Power: My reaction when I first used this product was that it is quite dense in texture. You need to swirl your brush a few times to pick up some product, but the product feels quite smooth on the skin.
The blush is a lovely light pink shade, but a bit cool toned for my skin tone. I think this will look beautiful on more fairer skin tones, but it does add a nice glow to the face. The pigmentation of the blush is slightly sheer, but you can surely build it up with multiple swipes.
The bronzer is too golden and shiny for my liking. The bronzer is pretty strongly pigmented and you need to be careful not to overdo it. I need to use it with an extremely light hand to make it work for me, but the end result is still not too natural looking.
Even though this is a powder product, it does not appear as chalky on the face and blends pretty easily, but I would recommend using it only on a perfectly moisturized face as it has a tendency to highlight dry patches. The bronzer/blush is pretty long lasting and easily lasts on me for 5-6 hrs. I surely didn’t need to reapply it throughout the day.
Pros of Sonia Kashuk Glow Chic Luminosity Bronzer/Blush Duo:
- Nice 2-in-1 product.
- A decently pigmented blush and a strongly pigmented bronzer.
- Easily blendable.
- Can be applied sheer or intensity can be increased as desired.
- Decent lasting power.
- Adds a nice flush and radiance to the face.
- Simple yet classy packaging.
Cons of Sonia Kashuk Glow Chic Luminosity Bronzer/Blush Duo:
- The bronzer might look unnatural if applied with a heavy hand.
- The blush is more suited for fair skin tones.
- Highlights dry patches.
Would I Repurchase Sonia Kashuk Glow Chic Luminosity Bronzer/Blush Duo?
I personally did not like the shades too much and will not repurchase. The product itself is average and not a must-have. You can purchase if you are on the lookout for these kind of shades.
