St. Ives Swiss Vanilla Moisturizing Body Wash Review

St. Ives Swiss Vanilla Moisturizing Body Wash Review

Hello everybody,

I am having such a sad and gloomy day because of the weather here. I am just not a winter person at all. All this weather makes me want to curl up into a ball and go into hibernation: D Today, I am reviewing a body wash which I have been using since the past few months. It’s from my favorite body care brand – St. Ives.  St. Ives products are made up of natural ingredients and are very gentle on the skin. This body wash also has a corresponding body lotion which you can layer with this if you like the fragrance and want it to stay a little longer.

300 INR for 400 ml, but they have hiked it to 450 INR recently.

Water, Sambucus niagra flower extract, Primula veris extract, sunflower extract, chamomile flower extract, vanilla fruit extract, DMDM hydantoin, SLS, glycerin, disodium EDTA, benzyl benzoate, sorbitol, tocopheryl acetate, hydroxypropyl guar,  hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, citric acid, parfum.

Product Description:

Discover the Swiss secrets for visibly healthy skin. Only St. Ives captures the Swiss secrets for naturally beautiful skin with this moisturizing body wash that soothes your senses with the comforting scent of vanilla as it cleans and softens skin. With added moisture.

  • Pure Swiss glacial water (nature’s form of pure moisture).
  • Swiss botanicals (skin nourishing).
  • Vitamin E (anti-oxidant, humectant).

My Experience with St. Ives Swiss Vanilla Moisturizing Body Wash:

Firstly, I love vanilla fragrance. That’s the sole reason I picked up this body wash. I love decadent smelling body washes for those lazy long baths, so this was the perfect choice for me.  This body wash is packaged in a white bottle with a flip open cap. The bottle is huge, so it’s definitely value for money. The body wash itself is creamy white in colour, just like “milkmaid” :P. It’s just the right consistency, neither too thick nor runny. It lathers up quite well, but is a bit difficult to rinse off since it’s a bit sticky. Nothing to be bothered about, but you just can’t hop out of the shower in 2 minutes. You have to rinse it properly with loofah or hand.

Considering that it’s a moisturizing body wash, I have to tell you about its moisturizing abilities. When I use this shower gel, I do not feel the need of applying moisturizer on my skin in summers. In winters, I am like a dry desert, so I apply moisturizers all day long!!!! No amount of moisturizing body washes can make me skip the moisturizer.

The fragrance of this body wash is just divine. It smells of pure vanilla and the fragrance stays for 1-2 hours after the shower, but as I said earlier, you can layer it with the body lotion from the same range which will make the vanilla fragrance stay for even longer.  Overall, a divine-smelling body wash with so many natural extracts!

Pros of St. Ives Swiss Vanilla Moisturizing Body Wash:

  • A divine pure vanilla fragrance.
  • Contains many natural ingredients.
  • Lathers up quite well and cleanses the skin.
  • Great quantity for the price.
  • Does not contain parabens.
  • Not tested on animals.
  • Cheap compared to the quantity it provided.

Cons of St. Ives Swiss Vanilla Moisturizing Body Wash:

  • Feels a bit sticky, but can be rinsed off easily in the shower. If you are aiming for a really quick shower, then this will not work.
  • Not easily available.
  • Contains SLS.

IMBB Rating:

4.5/5 (0.5 minus for the mild stickiness!)

Overall, it’s a lovely body wash with a delicious fragrance and I would surely repurchase it and recommend it!
