Step-by-Step Bridal Makeup Tutorial – South Indian Muhurtham

By “Mirror Rendezvous

Thank you, IMBB, for inviting me to post a makeup tutorial. It is an honour that I will cherish as I have been a great fan of the blog and will continue to be so always. Today I would like to post a photo tutorial on ‘South Indian Natural Muhurtham’ makeup. It is believed in the South India that the bride is an embodiment of grace, talent, and natural beauty. She adorns herself on her big day in hues of maroon/green as they are auspicious and are symbolic to marriage and prosperity. As the bride will be in her traditional jewellery and natural flowers, I chose a look that will be a part of the theme: natural, less is more and elegant.
Step-by-Step Bridal Makeup Tutorial - South Indian Muhurtham

Step 1

The most important part of the bridal makeup is a cleansed (free from bacteria), toned, moisturized and primed face. Our beautiful model has oily skin, so I used the products accordingly. Don’t forget to prime the eye lids and lips also.
step 1

Step 2

Apply a base shadow colour, as close to the skin tone as possible, using a blending brush. Here, I have used a neutral shade from the Sephora Makeup Academy Palette. Define the crease and ends of the eye with a v with a deeper neutral shade. Here, I have used a deep brown from the same palette.
step 2

Step 3

Apply a golden undertone sheen shadow with a flat eye brush on the entire eye lid. Also, apply a lighter shade under the brow bone.
step 3

Step 4

Apply a defined line as close to the lash line as possible as an eye liner.
step 4

Step 5

Colour correct all the spots and discoloration with an orange corrector.
step 5

Step 6

Apply a foundation with a flat foundation brush. Then, even it out on the skin with a kabuki brush. In this case, I have used 2 tones to bring put the depth and to keep with the skin tones. Further, conceal under eye circles and spots.
step 6

Step 7

Powder the skin in order to set the cream foundation. Add a light amount of blush on the cheeks to bring about some colour on the blushing bride’s face.
step 7

Step 8

Highlight the high points of the face. Here, I have used the same eye shadow shade used under the brow bone on the bridge of the nose, above the cheekbones, on the temple and above the cupid’s bow and on the center of the chin. Curl the lashes with an eye lash curler and apply a water proof mascara on the upper and lower lashes. With a very light hand, define the eyebrows with a brow colour.

Step 9

Define your lips with a lip pencil in poppy red and then apply a matte lipstick.
step 9

Step 10

Fix the entire makeup with a fixing spray as the bride will need her makeup to last for 8-12 hours.
Natural Muhurtham makeup tutorial is complete with a neutral-toned eye shadow and a defined liner and a mascara.
