I have naturally straight hair and obviously, I love my hair. The happiest part is that I never need to go for hair straightening, but I sometimes get bored with this same look and I always prefer to opt for curls, and curly hair has a nice romantic dreamy touch that attracts me a lot. I really love curls and I have so many hair-curling tools also. But, using a heating tool always damages my hair a lot and they are not good for often uses. So today, I am going to share a very simple heatless way to get those perfect curls. Now, let’s get into the tutorial.
What you need:
Hair Curling Mousse: Curling mousse helps to get nice defined hair curls. It gives a texture to hair and also holds the curls. I used, Garnier Fructis I love my Curls Perfecting Mousse.
Rubber or Foam Rods: This is the main tool which helps to create heatless curls. It is actually a foam rod which you can move or twist easily. It is soft and totally safe for hair. These are very popular in the market nowadays and you can easily find them online.
Hair Setting Spray: Hair setting spray helps to hold the hair style for long, especially it lasts the curls longer. Here, I used Schwarzkopf Weather Taft Shine Lamination Effect Hair Lacquer Hair Spray.
First, you need to comb your hair smoothly and detangle all the knots.
Now, apply some curling mousse on your hair and massage it nicely, and make sure it doesn’t make your hair rough.
Now, coming to the actual steps, you need to separate your hair into sections. Create your top section first and then do the sides and bottom section.
First, you need to separate a small section of 1-2 inches and then place the rod at the bottom of the section of hair. Now, roll the rod up, to the scalp. It is best to start from the end and secure the tip to double wrap the hair around it.
Once you reach to the scalp, twist the outer section of the rod and wrap the section together to close. It secures the rod to stay for long.
Next, again, take a small section of hair and roll that around the rod and secure the rod. Repeat the steps 4 and 5 for each section of your hair.
Keep these for several hours. I kept it for 1 and half hour. The more hours you keep, it gives the better result and perfect long-lasting curls. If you don’t have much time, then you can spray some setting spray over it and use a hair dryer, but as I am doing full heatless curls, I prefer the first option.
After that, unlock the rod and slowly unroll your hair. Don’t pull it down, just slowly unroll the hair and once you reach the end, pull the rod. Do this with all the sections and you can see the beautiful result.
To set these curls, you need to spray some setting spray over it. Now, you can keep them like these, perfect ringlet curls. They are more prominent and gives a different look. Or, if you love soft messy curls, then run your fingers through your hair to shake the curls loose. It gives more volume and nice casual look, which is perfect for daily purposes.
You are done with the beautiful curls. Hope you like this easy tutorial. It is totally a heatless way to get nice curls and it doesn’t damage hair either. I love these curls and am totally obsessed with these easy steps.
