My Experience with Stila Eyes Are The Window Shadow Palette – Spirit:

Packaging:

Exceptionally beautiful packaging. It has a rose gold case with a mirror finish, clear enough to see your reflection in it clearly. It closes securely and has a very good-sized mirror inside. There is no applicator provided. It does attract fingerprints a lot.

It has a clear protective covering inside with a different quote in it for each variation of the palette related to the theme. The Spirit palette has the quote “Where the spirit does not work with the hand, there is no art” – Leonardo da Vinci. Some people may throw this protective layer but I instead have found an ingenious use for it. I use it by holding it under it my eye when I am blending eye shadows which helps prevent any fall out on my face and also it gives me a sharp cat eye like edge with my eye shadows.

Shades , Texture &Pigmentation:

This palette consists of 12 shades. Most of them are metallic/frosty finish with a couple of mattes thrown in. Some people may find only 2 matte eye shadows in a palette not enough; but I do think that the 2 colors which are matte- Puppy (soft brown crease shade) and Chinois (pale creamy white –highlight shade) are good enough to work with and complement most looks I create with this palette.

The texture of these shadows is very smooth, soft and blend able. Even the lighter shades have good pigmentation and show up on my skin. The texture of the shimmery shades is much more smoother and are super pigmented than the mattes which are a little bit lacking in pigmentation when compared to the shimmery shadows and are slight bit powdery but they are still easy to work with and do not look chalky on the eyes.

This palette has both mix of warm and cool shadows. Row 1 & 2 has mostly warm shades while the Row 4 has mostly cool shades. The breakdowns of the shades are as follows.

Row 1

Kitten– High metallic finish, Champagne gold. This shade is actually the best seller as an individual eye show in the Stila brand.
Puppy– Soft brown shade. Quite neutral in undertone. Works great as a crease shade when paired with most looks.
Pigalle– My favorite shade in the whole palette. A very deep rich rusty red with a hint of cranberry tone to it. It has slight shimmer but it is very subtle and hardly notable.

Row 2

Oasis– A shimmery finish pale gold shade.
Jezebel– A burnt copper shade. It has hints of peachy undertone to it. Very beautiful as an all over lid shade
Barefoot– A very warm brown. Has slight bit of shimmer, not very notable.

Row 3

Wheat– As the name implies it is wheat shade. It has shimmery metallic finish
Golightly– A bronzy brown. Also with a metallic finish
Espresso– A deep grey. Mostly matte finish with hints of shimmer.

Row 4

Chinois– A matte pale creamy white. Works great to highlight brow bone and inner corner.
Slate– A high frosty finish grey with hints of lavender purple undertone.
Pewter– A high metallic finish deep grey with royal blue undertone to it.
These shadows have a very good staying power about 6-7 hours without creasing and with minimal fading. These shadows do work best used upon a primer which helps it show up with full intensity.

Overall I do love this palette very much. The quality of the shadows and pigmentation is very good. They do not crease on me provided I use a primer. There is a good mix of warm and cool shades and the packaging is absolutely gorgeous. There is a lack of more matte shades but apart from that everything about this palette is perfect. I will recommend this to all.

  1. OMG neha!! this is one of the prettiest most gorgeous palette i have seen in such a long time. I mean every things is perfect from packaging to colors to your EOTDs. lovveeeee!!

    1. Thank U Parmita…
Tartelette palette has all matte shades unlike this one which has most shimmers and a mix of warm and cools.. Tartelette shades are much more smoother and better pigmented than this and has mostly cool tone shades.. hope this is helpful..
U can read indepth review of Tartelette palette here by me on IMBB..

      1. thanks for the reply Neha 😀 Ya I read your review on that one too, that’s the reason I asked you as You own both 😀

        1. it really depends on ur preference.. Tartelette has the best quality matte eyeshadows I have come across yet.. but it does need to be supplemented with a other shades to create a whole look in my opinion.. If you go with this palette you wont need anything else but the quality of the these stila eyeshadows are not as excellent as the Tarte ones
