My Experience with Stila Lip Glaze in Apricot:
Last year, I had reviewed the ELF Hypershine Lip Gloss in Berry Cherry. ELF Hypershine Lip Gloss is considered to be a dupe of this Stila Lip Glaze. After trying the ELF Hypershine Lip Gloss, I wanted to try the Stila Lip Glaze as well. I got a chance to purchase the Stila Lip Glaze a few months ago.
Apricot is a pale peachy gloss with ultra fine silver shimmer in it. The silver shimmer gives a nice shine to the lips and does not look over the top. It can be used on top of any lipstick or on its own. As always, I like to use it alone. It just goes on sheer and gives a nice shine on the lips.
It comes in a click pen packaging like the ELF Lip Gloss, but the brush is better than the ELF one. The brush spreads the product smoothly over the lips without streaking. I have not faced any problem with the packaging. In fact, it is quite easy to use and to carry; just toss it in a bag or clutch for quick touch-ups.
The gloss is a little thicker, but not very sticky. It has a mild fruity smell and no taste. It does not feel heavy on lips.
One thing that impressed me about the gloss is that, even after a meal, snacks and coffee, I could still see some shine on the lips. Lips are well hydrated and I didn’t find a need to apply the gloss again.
The shimmer is so fine that you can hardly detect them on the lips after applying and it never settles in fine lip lines.
Let me jot down the pros and cons about this lip gloss:
Pros of Stila Lip Glaze in Apricot:
- A very pretty peachy shade that goes on well on it own or over any shade of lipstick.
- Can be used during daytime and for an evening look as well.
- Very good staying power.
- Ultra fine shimmer gives a nice shine to the lips.
- Keep the lips well hydrated for the whole day.
- Prevents drying , when applied over a lipstick which tends to make the lips dry.
Cons of Stila Lip Glaze in Apricot:
- Heavily priced for a lip gloss. It is always better to buy in sets which will work out very cheap.
- Not available in India.
If you are a gloss person like me, then you should give this a try. These are available in sets almost throughout the year. Do pick one and try when you come across it. You will not regret buying it.
