Stila Smudge Pot Bronze Review, Swatches

Stila Smudge Pot Bronze

Hello IMBB friends… I promise, this is the last eye product for the month. *hihi*. But just look at the bronze shade and tell me, would you have resisted it?? Bronze is such a versatile shade which goes with So many outfits : Indian ethnics and western Little black dresses. When In doubt- I always reach for a bronze shadow/liner because it intensifies my brown eyes a lot.

Stila says:The verdict is in, and smudge pots take the prize for sexy eyes. The innovative and spunky alternative to traditional powder and liquid formulas, this clever little gel has an inky intensity that leaves powder shadows in the dust. The glass jar and airtight lid keeps the gel soft and pliable.
Cost : $20 for 0.14 oz. , this one is a mini I got with a bunch of other stuff.

My take on Stila Smudge Pot Bronze:

I have always been biased towards bronzey shades. whether it’s for the cheeks or eyes. For some reason I think the shade looks very gorgeous on Indian/ mediterranean skin tones. Very Goddess like. I love to layer it as a base for shadows too. Even though it is mainly marketed as a liner, I found that it stays well when blended on the lids to give a lovely bronze hue. I keep these kinds of shades mainly for travel where I know I’m going to get less time to get ready or where I need an effortless look. Also the plus point is, it stays well on my oily lids. Stila is one of the favourite brands of celebrity makeup artists and this is a cult favourite among a lot of them after their kitten eyeshadow. It is a very shimmering bronze color and is heavily pigmented. One swipe gives you tons of color and it really blends well before setting. I love the shimmer which makes it look very beautiful. Not the kind of shimmer that travels your entire face though. I have one in grey too and they are just really versatile. I love the fact that they are so soft and not very thick so you can smudge them with your fingers or brushes and get a lovely finish. I have used this a lot of times as a cream shadow and also to layer powder shadows on top of it (when you know you’re going to an event where running around is involved and you won’t have time for touch-ups). Below too I’ve layered it with another shadow but it shows through and seamlessly gels with other products. I loev the fact that I don’t have to go over it a hundred times and it does not leave blank spots. I’m eyeing the cobalt shade from this range too. Also, keep them inverted and always remember to keep the lid closed!

Cons of Stila Smudge Pot Bronze

– They’re not vegan as they contain Carmine.
– The shimmery shades should be avoided on the waterline. One of them made my eyes all red.
– Not cruelty free.
– This particular shade has shimmer in it so I won’t use it on the waterline.

Verdict on Stila Smudge Pot Bronze: This is a perfect shade that can be glammed up or down depending on your outfit choices. Also, the Stila gel pots are really much nicer than some of the other gel liners I have used. I’d recommend you to have at least one of them in your stash .

IMBB rating:

I rate it 4.5/5 on the IMBB scale.
