I hope you all are doing great. How was your weekend? Mine was great. I read a lot and slept a lot. My favorite hobby in winters is to spend as much as time possible in my warm and cosy blanket. We both love each other a lot 😛
We all love winters but we all hate the torture it does to our hair, skin and nails. Yes, our nails also suffer a lot in the winters. Due to the harsh climate, nails start losing their shine and becomes dull and brittle. The long list of harmful and scary chemicals present in the nail paints also affect our nails. Frequent usage of nail paints and nail paint removers makes them yellowish. Discoloration of the nails is also due to our unhealthy eating habits.
My today’s DIY is an effort to bring back the shine of your nails and make them healthy, strong and white. So, without wasting any more time, I am quickly going to tell you the ingredients which are required in the nail soak and its procedure.
1. Half cup orange juice.
2. 1 Spoon of white salt.
3. 1 Spoon of crushed garlic.
4. 4 Spoons of olive oil.
5. 2 Vitamin E capsules.
Procedure for the First Step:
Step 1: Squeeze a medium sized orange in a bowl.
Step 2: Crushed 5-6 garlic pods roughly in a crusher and add them in the same bowl.
Step 3: Add salt in the same bowl and leave it for 5 minutes.
Step 4: Now dip your fingers in the bowl for 5-10 minutes and relax.
Step 5: Remove your fingers from the bowl and wash your hands with the plain water.
Step 6: Prepare yourself for the next round, i.e., moisturising.
Procedure for the Second Step:
Step 1: Add Olive Oil and Vitamin E capsule serum in a bowl.
Step 2: Keep the bowl in microwave for a few seconds to warm the oil.
Step 3: Dip your fingers in the bowl for 5 minutes and relax.
Step 4: After removing the fingers from the bowl, gently massage your fingers for a few minutes and wipe the excess oil with the help of a towel.
Benefits of the ingredients used for the nail soak:
1. Orange Juice:
Oranges are filled with the goodness of Vitamin C. It helps in strengthening the nails and makes it strong and help in removing the yellowness and discoloration of the nails.
Garlic is good not only for our health but it also helps us in getting rid of those dull, brittle, stained nails. It also contains anti-bacterial properties, so it helps in preventing any infection of the nails and cuticles.
It helps in softening our cuticles and giving strength to the nails. Its usage helps in removing yellow stains from nails and makes them whiter, brighter and healthier.
4. Olive Oil:
It penetrates the cuticles and nails. It helps in the growth of our nails. It also moisturises the nails and cuticles and makes them healthy and happy.
5. Vitamin E:
It helps in improving the circulation of blood and thus promotes the growth of nails.
I pamper my nails with this soak filled with the goodness of vitamins, twice or thrice in a month. Though I want to use it every Sunday, but blame it on my laziness; I hardly manage to repeat the procedure twice or thrice in one month. But whenever I use it, my nails look healthier than before. It has also improved the condition of my nails. It has strengthened my nails. Overall, it’s an easy and cost-effective method to do a mini manicure for your pretty nails.
Some points to remember:
1. In case you don’t have olive oil, you can use coconut oil or any other oil available in your house.
2. If you have any cut or an injury on your nails or area near the nails, completely avoid using it.
3. Don’t overheat the oil otherwise you might burn your fingers.
I hope you will like this dip and it will show the same results on you too. It will start showing the results from the very first use. So don’t waste your time and give it a shot; but don’t forget to share your experience with me.
