StriVectin-EV Get Even Dark Circle Corrector Review
By Indulekha N.
This is my first post for IMBB. I am always on the lookout for skin care products. Today, I am reviewing StriVectin-EV Get Even Dark Circle Corrector. I have heard really good things about the brand StriVectin. I have used one of their products before and liked it. So, when I found this eye cream at Ulta, I had to get it.
Breakthrough targeted eye treatment that is clinically proven effective on ALL types of dark circles: blue, brown, and yellow.
Who is it for:
- Women 30+ who are concerned with aging around the eyes – specifically dark circles.
How is it different:
- Reduces the intensity of dark circles under eyes and darkness on the eyelids.
- Reduces the appearance of discolorations and age/dark spots around the eye.
- Revives, brighten and awakens the eye area.
59 USD for 15 ml.
My Experience with StriVectin-EV Get Even Dark Circle Corrector:
Though it is recommended for women who are 30+, I bought this since I was running out of my beloved eye cream. I have dark circles, they are not really bad. StriVectin makes some really awesome skin care products. This product claims to erase dark circles, so I wanted to give this a try.
The product comes in a jar packaging. You have to dip your fingers in, which I am not very fond of.
The cream is really thin and smooth, very light weight and blends in to the skin really well. It sinks in to the skin really well. It moisturized the skin under my eyes well when I applied.
I really did not have a good experience with this eye cream. I really wanted to like it. I have used this cream for a more than a month. I wasn’t expecting it to perform miracles and erase dark circles completely, but I had a very bad skin reaction. It made the skin under my eyes itchy. Worse, it made the skin under my eyes peel which was really painful. It used to sting really bad during application. I checked the website to see if the eye cream contains retinol, but there was none. I have to be really careful when applying the cream not to get it too close to the eye or else it makes my eyes burn and my eyes would start watering.
One of the claims of the product is that NIA-114 (niacin) helps to brighten the skin and reduces the appearance of dark circles. It didn’t not brighten the skin at all. I haven’t noticed any significant difference in dark circles either after using it for a month. I have discontinued using this product and the skin under my eyes has healed really well. I no longer have skin peeling issues.
Pros of StriVectin-EV Get Even Dark Circle Corrector:
- Moisturizes the skin.
- Doesn’t feel heavy on the skin.
- Formulated without parabens.
Cons of StriVectin-EV Get Even Dark Circle Corrector:
- This didn’t help erase dark circles.
- Irritates the skin under the eye.
- Not hygienic with the jar packaging.
Would I Repurchase StriVectin-EV Get Even Dark Circle Corrector?
Overall, this product didn’t work for me, I will not buy this again. Good old moisturizer worked better under my eyes than this eye cream.
As with any skin care product, I cannot really say if everyone is going to have the same issues that I had. It might really work for other people. Since this is targeted for older women, it might work for mature skin.
