Suave Naturals Soothing Lavender Lilac Shampoo Review

Suave Naturals Soothing Lavender Lilac Shampoo Review

Hello IMBBians!

It’s been a while that someone has reviewed a Suave product.  Also, I think I have never reviewed a shampoo outside L’Oreal and Garnier, so breaking the tradition, I bring you Suave Naturals Soothing Lavender Lilac Shampoo review. Summer is in full rage and this was a purchase among minty, cooling, soothing products for hair and body. Let’s see what this shampoo did for my oily scalp and dry hair.

Suave Naturals Soothing Lavender Lilac Shampoo

Product Description:

Our Soothing Lavender Lilac Shampoo gently cleanse with the revitalizing scent of fresh lavender and lilac petals, bringing out the natural beauty of your hair. The hypoallergenic shampoo formula has a long-lasting fragrance.

Ingredients:

Aqua, Sodium Laurethe Sulphate, Cocomide MEA, Ammonium chloride, Fragrance, hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose, Tetrasodium EDTA, DMDM Hydantoin, Citric Acic, Tocopheryl Acetate, Panthenol, Propylene Glycol, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone, PPG-9, Passiflora edulus flower extract, peppermint leaf extract, rose extract, lavender extract, red 33, blue 1.

Price:

I got it for $ 2.75 – 12 fl oz. (Made in USA).  The price in USA is far less; $1-$2 but we get it here for$4 because fluids have higher shipping and taxes.

My Experience with Suave Naturals Soothing Lavender Lilac Shampoo:

Back in February, it was mostly cloudy here and clicking snaps of the product was a pain; and now it is so hot with scorching sunlight that again clicking images outside is impossible:D! I think I am becoming a nagging and complaining type of person.

Coming to Suave Naturals Lavender and Lilac Shampoo, it comes in a transparent bottle with typical Suave style shape of bottle with a flip open cap. The bottle is sturdy and wouldn’t break easily.  The cap system makes it easy to use in the shower, but the size doesn’t make it travel friendly. The shampoo is mediocre in consistency – neither too viscous nor runny. In fact, it tends towards gel consistency.  Let me share something, what I observed with Suave body washes (two reviewed by me for women and one for men which my hubby just finished), they are thick in consistency when the temperatures are lower. Once summer approaches, they become highly runny and difficult to handle. The shampoo is light bluish and lavender colored and well infused with lavender fragrance. In my home, I have used four Suave products and none of them disappointed me with regards to fragrance as described on the product bottle – great actually! If you are looking for floral fragrances in shower, this one is for you. The lavender all around in shower is really refreshing and soothes my nerves. The fragrance doesn’t stay in the hair for a couple of hours too.

Now as far as the performance is considered, I shall rather categorize it as a clarifying shampoo.  A  little goes a long way – a small amount lathers so rich that it clears my oily scalp efficiently, leaving behind no oil or dirt. Also, I have no trouble in washing off my hair and no residue is left behind. My hair feels cleaner with a fresh feel. However, it has no added conditioning properties, but conditioning is so essential for my hair because it feels dry towards the tips. My hair feels dry and I do not see the bounciness that I want from a shampoo, which means a conditioner after every wash is a must to satisfy my demands. But still, the shampoo makes each strand stand out with clean scalp and some shine added to the stresses.  It makes hair soft and each strand is detangled without breakage or damage. It contains vitamin E and rose extracts which are really good for hair nourishment. Also, the shampoo is paraben free and hypoallergenic; however, it contains SLS.

Final Verdict on Suave Naturals Soothing Lavender Lilac Shampoo:

I think this is a really nice shampoo for summers and will suit those with normal and healthy hair.  This shampoo is ineffective for very oily scalp or for hair with dry tips.  Like when I do regular oiling, I have to go through the shampoo routine twice to have a clean and oil-free scalp.

Would I Recommend/Repurchase Suave Naturals Soothing Lavender Lilac Shampoo?

There is no harm in trying this; actually it is a nice shampoo at an affordable price.  But as for repurchase, I am not sure because I am happy with Garnier.

  1. thanks for sharing dear.. Surely getting this.. looks better than the green apple one.

The green apple one dries out the hair *scared* after oiling you need only one wash to get rid of the oil. I think SLS amount is thoda jyada in that 😛

  2. I surely need a clarifying shampoo for summers *woot* *woot* *woot* me too have an oily scalp and it just irritates me during this part of the year *headbang* *headbang* i wish i could get this one around *cry*

    1. if you have irritation and itching issue, try adding few drops of dettol once or twice a week in a water mug after the shower, and wash your hair with it, it kills both dandruff and itching more effectively than anything else!

  3. I have their clarifying one and its good for the price, their shampoos never get over na…such less quantity is required and the bottles are huge 🙂
