My Experience with Suave Professionals Almond and Shea Butter Shampoo:

Of late, I have been reviewing a lot of products that I really like, but this one might break that chain.  However, I have to start by saying that this shampoo gives you great value of money: a lot of product for a great price, but this is not a shampoo that I am in love with. I used to use Suave shampoos many years ago and I have never really been happy with them. This one isn’t bad, but it’s not the kind of shampoo that I will love to use.

Shea Butter Shampoo 3

The formula is a creamy, runny one. It lathers very well and gives you the feel of a luxuriously clean scalp. It rinses off very easily.

While I cannot really complain of the way it leaves my hair after the wash, I think that this shampoo is very harsh. Any shampoo that lathers only too well is usually harsh! After washing my hair, I find it to be in a decent condition—not too frizzy, fairly tame, manageable and, more importantly, quite clean, but every time I use this shampoo, my scalp starts becoming oily within two to three days (which is not the case when I use other shampoos) and I have to wash it again very soon—otherwise my hair starts falling! I would think that this happens because the shampoo strips the scalp of its natural oils, prompting it to secrete more.

If you are looking for a good shampoo to invest in to ensure good hair in the long run, then I absolutely don’t recommend this. This is the kind of shampoo that I wouldn’t mind using if and when I have nothing else to use.

Pros of Suave Professionals Almond and Shea Butter Shampoo:

  • Creamy shampoo that lathers well and does a good job of cleaning the hair and scalp.

Cons of Suave Professionals Almond and Shea Butter Shampoo:

  • It’s very harsh: it strips the hair and scalp of natural oils, leaving them very dry at first and oily and dirty soon after.
  • Nothing great about the ingredients.
  • The fragrance isn’t anything spectacular either. Sometimes, I appreciate shampoos simply for their fragrance, but this one doesn’t score on that front either.

My Verdict on Suave Professionals Almond and Shea Butter Shampoo:

This is definitely not a terrible shampoo—I’m not saying that, but if you can find something better, then pick that. Because this is really not going to do your hair any good.
