How to Apply:
For precise application, apply it to your bottom lip first and then tend to your upper lip. Since the formula is very pigmented, we suggest applying the colour to the bottom lip first, pressing your lips together and then filling in your Cupid’s bow.

My Experience with Sugar 04 Plum Yum Smudge Me Not Liquid Lipstick:

Packaging:
Sugar always packages its products in a beautiful box. The outer packaging of this lipstick as well has a funky design. The lipstick comes in a clear tube with a black cap. The packaging looks quite similar to Maybelline ColorSensational Velvet Matte’s packaging but this tube has the name of the product printed on the cap. Also, there is a tiny sticker at the bottom; it bears shade number, name etc. The packaging is nice but somehow it doesn’t look perfect to me. The applicator, however, is perfect and defines my lips without any extra efforts.

Shade:
The shade Plum Yum has been described as a muted plum. On me, this shade looks like a beautiful dusky pink with a hint of coral. It looks super pretty on the face and goes well with any kind of makeup look. This shade has a fresh and natural tone to it, which is one of the current makeup trend. It looks great on all skin tones and look perfect for daily makeup. It is a nice MLBB shade but it does brighten up the complexion. There are no shimmers in it and the shade is pigmented enough.

Texture and Quality:
I love liquid lipsticks. This one has a smooth, soft texture that glides easily on the lips without tugging them. The texture doesn’t create any problem during application and it works well on the lips. The formula feels quite comfortable on the lips and it never looks patchy or feels sticky. But, I would suggest you to apply just one coat. It takes only a few minutes to dry out completely on the lips. Once it dries out, it settles to a perfect matte finish and looks so beautiful. This matte finish does not smudge or transfer.

This liquid lipstick has the tendency to dry out my lips. Currently, my lips have turned quite dry and require moisture every now and then. Hence, I make it a point to apply a nice lip balm underneath. If you also have dry lips, this issue can be cured by applying a non-glossy lip balm.

Staying Power:
It stays on my lips for over 8 hours without smudging or transferring. It looks perfect throughout the day. It does not flake either. This lip color can even survive a meal but might look a little faded from the lips lines after an oily meal. It does settle into the fine lines of the lips, too. Removing this lipstick is a task. You require an oil based remover to remove this lipstick properly. I personally use Maybelline Clean Express Total Clean and it takes a few seconds to remove this from my lips. It does not leave any stain behind, though.

Overall:
It is a very affordable liquid lipstick range that performs well, too. It’s available in so many good shades. This is a beautiful shade to wear and I am using this shade a lot these days. But, I am not sure why they call it a plum shade.
