My Experience with Sugar Cosmetics Grand Finale Matte Setting Mist:

This setting mist comes packed in signature Sugar graphics cardboard packaging which bears the face of a lady. Inside this cover, the setting mist comes wrapped in a cellophane paper. It is a slender plastic black bottle with a unique shade and has a black cap to close it. The packaging looks very minimal and classy. The quantity offered is 60 ml, and considering the price, I think it’s a bit overpriced coming from a brand like Sugar. It has a spray nozzle that dispenses the right amount of product on the face. The black cap closes securely in place. All the product details regarding the description, ingredients and directions for use are written on the cardboard cover. Overall, the packaging is sturdy and travel-friendly and I find no issues with the packaging.

Coming to the fragrance of this setting spray, the smell is pleasant; it does not have any specific scent, it’s pretty mild. The spray has a whole lot of different ingredients and you can check them out  before purchasing. It also contains alcohol which is one of the principal ingredients. This ingredient is known to affect dry and sensitive skin. Even though I have dry skin, it did not cause any irritation post application. Sugar Cosmetics Grand Finale Matte Setting Mist is free of parabens.

Basically, we use makeup mists to extend the longevity of the makeup underneath. You can either apply it before application of the base makeup for a smoother base application or at the end of makeup application to ensure that your makeup seals in place properly. If you pick the former option, you can spray the product directly or even use cotton pads to use the spray on face. I usually prefer the latter option. After I am done with the application of makeup, I hold the spray bottle a few inches away from my face and spray directly. This step helps your makeup to stay in place and helps to achieve flawless finish.

Even though Sugar Cosmetics Grand Finale Matte Setting Mist claims to impart a matte finish, the resultant effect is not drying kind of a matte finish. It rather imparts a nice radiant look to the face, which I love. The spray mechanism releases a fair amount of product with each spritz. Also, the product doesn’t take much time to be absorbed and I gently pat it on my face. The look is not completely matte. This doesn’t however help in preventing the shine or oil. So, those with oily skin will have to think. It also evens out makeup and helps in further layering of makeup without making your makeup look messy. It holds my makeup in place well. I use it to set my eyeliner, mascara, foundation and even liquid lip products. My makeup does not smudge, crease or transfer after spraying it on.

It keeps the makeup look fresh for about 5-6 hours, post which my face starts looking a bit shiny. If the weather remains normal, the wear time is more, and I am talking about winters. In summers, I am not sure how effective it would be.

Overall, Sugar Cosmetics Grand Finale Matte Setting Mist can act as a quick fix and enhance the way your makeup turns out. If you want your makeup to look flawless and last for longer, you can surely give this a shot. I really love trying out new products, so I enjoyed using it.
