My Experience with Sugar Cosmetics Never Say Dry Creme Lipstick 06 Raisin Helen:

The lipstick comes in nice rust orange and black-colored cardboard box with a face printed on it. The shade name is printed on the front side of the box. More product details like the ingredients list etc. have been printed on the side of the box. The tube has the same matte black packaging as their “Vivid” lipstick range. The shade name is also mentioned on the front side of the tube as well.

The packaging is opaque and not color coded, so it is difficult to spot the shade from makeup stash. The lipstick cap is also matte black in color and shuts very securely making a click sound and ensures that the packaging is fit for carrying around. Overall, the packaging is sturdy and travel friendly.

“Raisin Helen” is a beautiful, warm-toned n*de rose shade. It goes perfectly with my skin tone and makes a perfect n*de shade for me. This is a nice everyday shade. It can be worn on an everyday basis. The color would be flattering for Indian skin tones. The color looks lovely on my lips.

This lipstick does not contain any shimmer or chunky glitter and sets to a healthy-looking creme finish. The lipstick is not super glossy. It has a slight sheen, which gives healthier and fuller appearance to the lips. The color payoff of the lipstick is decent. It gives semi-opaque coverage in one swipe. Hence, I need two-three swipes to get a rich opaque coverage. It hides pigmented lips very well.

I have fallen in love with the texture of this lipstick. It is incredibly soft and smooth, hence it glides on the lips like a dream without causing any tugging or pull. Despite this lipstick being creamy smooth in texture, the bullet does not melt or break from its base. The creamy formula is very nourishing and prevents my lips from drying. The lipstick never clings to dry patches of the lips. It gives a nice, plumped-up effect to the lips. The formula is feathery light and feels comfortable on the lips. There is no stickiness in the formula and it does not feel like it’s sitting on the lips. Due to its creamy formulation, the lipstick has a tendency to transfer. This is the only con of this lipstick but I am kind of okay with it, as it’s the case with almost every other creme lipstick.

The lipstick is super moisturizing and hydrating in nature. It nourishes the lips very well and keeps them healthy. My lips stay nourished throughout the day. Those who have problem of dry lips; this range is definitely worth trying. I quite love the formulation, so I am planning to include more shades from this range into my collection. The lipstick has a very mild and non-bothersome smell. The lipstick never gets patchy. It does not have creasing issues. It does not settle into the fine lines of my lips.

The lasting power of this lipstick is around 5-6 hours on my lips without any meals. The color fades away after a meal and hence requires reapplication. The formula is non-staining and can be easily taken off using a good makeup remover.
