I was so keen to try their liquid lipsticks ever since they were launched in the market and finally, I managed to lay my hand on a few gorgeous shades from this range. Out of these “Brazen Raisin” and “Tan Fan” have already been reviewed on IMBB. I would be reviewing the shades Tangerine Queen and Rethink Pink now. Today’s review is all about Sugar Cosmetics Smudge Me Not Liquid Lipstick in the shade “Rethink Pink.” Read on for more details on this shade:

My Experience with Sugar Cosmetics Rethink Pink Smudge Me Not Liquid Lipstick:

Let’s start with the packaging of the product. The liquid lipstick comes in a cardboard carton having signature Sugar Cosmetics fonts and prints on it. The graphic box looks quite fun and nice. The lipstick comes in a squarely shaped see-through packaging. The shade name is mentioned at the base of the tube and also on the outer carton.

The tube closes securely with a regular screw on cap, which fits securely making it leak proof and travel friendly. The shape of the lipstick tube is similar to Maybelline Colorsensational Velvet Matte Lipsticks. The shape of the lipstick is fairly basic, so it is easy to store these lipsticks. The applicator comes attached with the cap. The applicator wand is small but still it is apt for application. The applicator gives sharp edges and gives a perfect pout. Overall, the packaging is basic and travel friendly.

“Rethink Pink” is a reddish fuchsia pink lipstick. The color is too bold and bright. This is not a shade for weak-hearted people. It is not an everyday shade. It may look over the top bright for everyday use but it is great for night parties and weddings. The shade is great for fairer skin tones. I really love the color on my lips. It instantly brightens up my skin tone. The lipstick is super matte and looks classy but it looks kind of flat on the lips and does not add dimension. The finish is ultra-matte and velvety.

There is no significant sheen or shimmer in this lipstick. These lipsticks have a mild candy-like fragrance. The smell is mild and non-bothering. The smell fades away gradually within a few minutes. The color pay off of this lipstick is amazing. It is insanely pigmented. One swipe of this lipstick gives an opaque finish to the lips. One coat gives perfect rich color to the lips and hides all the flaw and pigmentation. Overall, I am quite impressed with the color payoff.

The texture of the lipstick is soft, smooth and kind of creamy. Hence, it glides smoothly on the lips without any tugging or pulling. It never settles into the fine lines of the lips. The lipstick is absolutely waterproof and smudge-proof. The application goes on pretty smoothly without any streaking. It is perfectly transfer proof and budge-proof. It does not budge even after a full meal. The formula is lightweight and feels super comfortable on the lips. The lipstick highlights the dry patches of the lips, so it is mandatory to keep the lips properly exfoliated and moisturized.

The lipstick dries out quickly in some 40-50 seconds and leaves an ultra matte finish. The lipstick sets fairly quickly, so I have to be very quick while applying it on the lips to avoid patchy finish. The lipstick formula is not really moisturizing and it feels dry if the lips are not properly moisturized. This particular shade has the tendency to slightly crumble from the inner sides of the lips. Although, it feels slightly sticky initially, once it sets it feels super comfortable on the lips and the sticky feel goes away.

The lasting power is super long, it stays for more than 8 hours on my lips. The color looks fresh and intense all the time. It does not smear at all. Removing the lipstick is slightly difficult, as you will need good oil-based makeup remover to remover it perfectly because it does not even budge with a water-based remover. It does not survive full oily meal and gets chipped off from the center of the lips. So, it requires a reapplication. With such a smooth texture reapplication and touch ups are easier and mess free.
