My Experience with Sugar Cosmetics Smudge Me Not Liquid Lipstick – 05 Rust Lust:

Packaging: The outer packaging is a beautiful graphic box and the actual lipstick comes in a small pretty clear tube with a black cap. This is very similar to Maybelline Color Sensational Vivid Matte Liquid Lip Color but, this one has the name printed on the cap. Also, the small shade name and the shade number are mentioned at the bottom which makes it easy to locate. It is definitely a nice packaging but, somehow I feel it’s a little low. But, it has a nice applicator wand that works perfectly to define my lips without any effort.

Shade: I always love rusty orange shades and such shades complement my tanned skin tone really well. The shade Rust Lust is a beautiful warm rusty shade with a touch of orange and pink undertones. So, it looks different under different lightings. This bright warm shade brightens my complexion. This is great for all skin tones, especially for Indian skin tone and it looks perfect with all outfits. There are no shimmers in it and it is a nicely pigmented shade that needs only one swipe. It works so well.

Texture and Quality: I love to use liquid lipsticks and this one has a smooth soft medium liquid texture that glides smoothly without any tugging. It doesn’t create any problem during application and it works so easily on lips. It feels very comfortable on the lips and never looks patchy or never feels sticky at all. It takes only a few minutes to dry out completely and once it dries out, it settles into a beautiful matte finish. It doesn’t transfer or smudge at all. It stays perfect on the lips. But, it has a tendency to dry out my lips and I need a lip balm before applying this lipstick. But, with a lip balm, it feels so nice and doesn’t feel dry.

Staying Power: The staying power of this lipstick is over 8 to 9 hours. It is smudge proof and transfer proof. It looks perfect throughout the day. It does not flake which is very good. It also survives lunch but, after a heavy oily lunch, it fades aways slightly.

It does settle into fine lines too. But, I find it is very hard to remove the stain from the lips. You need an oil-based makeup remover to remove it properly. I used my Maybelline Clean Express Total Clean Remover and it takes a few seconds to remove it. It does not leave any stain behind.

Overall, it is a very affordable liquid lipstick that performs well. Rust Lust is my favourite shade in this whole range. My super dry lips need an extra hydration to use this lipstick.
