I was smitten by this shade (Fiery Berry) when I saw the swatches online. This shade belongs to the new colors by Sugar Cosmetics in their very popular “Smudge Me Not Liquid Lipstick” range. Keep scrolling to know my take on this lipstick.

My Experience with Sugar Smudge Me Not Liquid Lipstick Fiery Berry:

Packaging: All Sugar cosmetic products come packed in graphic boxes which look very attractive, like something from the Prisma app 😛 This liquid lipstick, like all its siblings, comes in a small clear bottle with a black cap which has the applicator attached. The name and the number of the shade are both mentioned on the base of the lipstick. The name of the shade and product details like ingredients and manufacturing are mentioned on the outer box – a pretty and efficient packaging.

Shade: Do I really need to explain how beautiful this shade is? It’s a beautiful marsala shade that will look gorgeous on all complexions. It’s a color most would reserve for parties and nights, but I have worn it in day, with absolutely no makeup on, except a BB cream and was surprised to see how flattering it looked. The berry and maroon undertones make it suitable for both cool and warm skin tones.

Pigmentation: Bang on! One swipe hides all lip pigmentation.

Texture and Staying Power: The texture is like all the others in the range. It sets to a complete matte finish. Not satiny or creamy matte, the full on no-nonsense matte. It is transfer-proof and smudge-proof, and very water resistant. It stays on pretty long- at least 7-8 hours. It breaks down only if you have oily food and in that case you would need to remove it completely and apply a fresh coat.

Application: The applicator picks up way too much product and hence you need to be careful about how much you use. Too much will give you a very layered up, uncomfortable feeling. You need to exfoliate and moisturize your lips, because this is very drying without a lip balm. Go slow while applying and build up. It takes time to dry completely, so you may blot out the excess for a more even finish.

Removing is a challenge, and I use coconut oil and need a couple of cotton balls to remove 90% color. I follow with a face wash and lip balm. It stains lips, so you might want to consider that. Had the formula been non-drying, I would have happily rated it a 5 star.

Yes because in less than 500 bucks, this is a shade you won’t regret adding to your kitty. Just don’t forget a lip balm underneath.
