Sultry Silver Smokey Eyes Tutorial

Sultry Silver Smokey Eyes Tutorial

Dear all,

Today’s article is very special as I will be doing a tutorial on Sultry Silver Smokey Eye Look. Its my first tutorial, so please excuse me if there is any problem. I have tried to keep the lighting same in all the pics and also I recorded the tutorial during day time, so that the colors are visible in natural day light.

Sultry Silver Smokey Eyes Tutorial

I have created Sultry Silver Smokey Look using Maybelline’s Eye Tattoo in Audacious Asphalt. Its a fantastic shade and very versatile, so it can be used during day time as well as night time. This is the final look and if you want to know how I created this look, please read on:

Products Used:

  • Maybelline Eye Tattoo in Audacious Asphalt or any silver/gunmetal eyeshadow.
  • Matte black eyeshadow.
  • Reddish brown matte eyeshadow.
  • Black eyeliner.
  • NYX eyeshadow base or concealer or any other eyeshadow base of your choice.
  • Off white highlight color, preferrably matte.
  • MAC Studio Fix Powder NC42 to set the eyeshadow base.

Brushes Used:

  • MAC 217 for blending the eyeshadows in the crease area.
  • Faces eyeshadow brush.
  • Pointed crease brush to apply eyeshadow to lower lash line

So, let’s get started:

    • Start off with bare eyelids, I have only applied eye cream here and let it rest for 15 minutes before applying the makeup.

Sultry Silver Smokey Eye Step1

    • Apply NYX eyeshadow base in skin tone on eyelids and under your eyes too, I sometimes use the same as concealer as it matches my skin tone well.

Sultry Silver Smokey Eye Step2

  • Set the base with a setting powder and now your eyes should look something like this.

Sultry Silver Smokey Eye Step3

    • Apply Maybelline eye tattoo in Audacious Asphalt or any other silver gunmetal eyeshadow all over the lid. Do not go in or above the crease area.

Sultry Silver Smokey Eye Step4

  • Your eyes should look something like this.

Sultry Silver Smokey Eye Step5

    • Apply same silver eyeshadow on your lower lash line going 3/4th way in.

Sultry Silver Smokey Eye Step6

    • Now, apply a reddish brown eyeshadow in your crease area. Β This will basically give warmth to the entire look and make it wearable during the day time as well. Blend it well using a fluffy brush to remove any harsh edges, I am using MAC 217 for this step.

Sultry Silver Smokey Eye Step7

    • Now, apply a matte black eyeshadow just on the outer corner, just below your reddish brown eyeshadow and again blend them well. Apply the black eyeshaow to your lower lashline as well smudging the grey eyeshaow which we applied earlier.

Sultry Silver Smokey Eye Step8

  • Finally, apply a black eyeliner on your top lash line, curl your lashes and add some mascara and you are done!

  1. Thanks X 1000 you knw I tried this few days back, I am bad at this (untidy look). I was not able to understand which portion should be finishing line πŸ™
yours is just perfect, neat and clean…

    1. Thanks a lot Shikha..I think blending in the crease is extremely important which helps in erasing any harsh lines..the point is to make sure there is proper transition between the shades..like blending your brow highlight with the crease color to give a neat transition..i hope i m making sense πŸ™‚ i will try to do a tut on the technique soon πŸ™‚

  2. liked it alot…i vl be wearing bottle green saree for one of the functin…if u can let me know which eyemakeup nd lipstick would suit…Thanks in advance:)

    1. thanks a lot rachna! does the saree have any work? if it has golden work then you can pair bottle green eyeshadow with golden eyeshadow..something like golden in the inner corner of the eyes and bottle green on the outer corner with red based brown in the crease for blending πŸ™‚ hope this helped

  3. OMG its lukng so so pretty…i have tried to do experiment wid silver shadow in past but either i messed up completely or overdone…in short my silver shadow was quite waste..but now i thnk i can use it trying dis tutorial…the tutorial in detail is really really helpful….

I love eye shadows, especially matte, also liked this palette(Oops i spelled wrong last time ;))…..can you tell me from where i can order this one online.

        1. m sooo glad rachna πŸ™‚ I got this neutral palette from coastal scents but don’t order from there coz its risky and you’ll end up paying quite a lot of shipping charge..exact same palette is available on buyincoins…i got my 88 matte color palette from there only and it has free shipping πŸ™‚

          1. Okies…..i’ll try to get this one Soon.
I always used MAC, Colorbar and Maybelline coz these brnds are easily available in my city(Jaipur,Rajasthan).
I think you are having very good sense of make-up moreover you are the first person from this blog whom i had any kind of chat so asking your favor for one more thing….actually I’m getting married on feb 1st and going to start my shopping by navratri…..so please suggest me whatever you can….

              1. Hmm……i have already decided my basic make-up needs…thinking to take Ignot, colorbar and Maybelline for eyes….MAC, chanel and Colorbar matte lipstic…..rest my entire list is empty yet :P….

  7. Hi parita,
It’s a gorgeous tutorial:) well done gal..
Can u tell me which is the eye shadow palette that u have used here??

  8. me loved this tutorial too. Bookmarking it for sure. I have to attend a wedding in Dec. a Punju wedding. Any recommendations for a day time eyeshadow and a night time one? the sangeet and wedding are in the evening and during the day its going to be just casual family stuff but tradional more like puja types. My outfit for the sangeet is a pink and black anarkali and a saree in green (most likely) for the wedding. Havent decided for the other day time functions πŸ™‚

    1. thanks Aru..I would highly recommend inglot 407 eyeshadow its a dupe of mac’s expensive pink and is perfect for weddings and functions! also check out..450 eyeshadow from inglot..its beautiful cranberry color..you can use it all over your lid and then smoke it out using matte black eyeshadow in the outer corners..also 418 inglot is a gorgeous humid green eyeshadow..all the above ones I have reviewed on imbb do check out πŸ™‚

  9. Hi Parita..the eyemakeup is absolutely amazing and classy πŸ™‚ May i know what foundation you are using as i could observe that in the final pic your skin tone looked wonderfully great and sooooo flawless compared to other pics in this tutorial πŸ™‚

      1. hey Parita, got new Ignot refil pan today(my own customized eyshadow palette:).) and aloso the ingnot 418(it matches one of my dress)

        1. wonderful rachna..enjoy! you can actually make your own customized eeyshadow palette at home for less than 100 bucks..i have done a tut on that..check it out πŸ™‚ you’ll save a lot of money!

  10. Could you write the link to that tut here….please πŸ™‚
and yeah lemme know if we can connect though fb too πŸ˜€
