Summery Golden Eye Makeup Photo Tutorial

Hi Everybody,

This is my first article and when I racked my brains about the topic, eye makeup seemed the most appropriate one. Not a single day passes by when I donโ€™t adorn my eyes with a number of colours.

Today I want to take you through my favourite day time look in summers. The golden eye look is very easy to achieve and a very safe bet in summers.
I take a deliberate break from smokey eyes in summers. Clean lines, light colours and slight shimmer make you look and feel fresh in the smouldering heat.

Gathering the artillery-

I am using the following things-

1. Lakme 9 to 5 Crรจme to powder compact (to create a base).
2. Maybelline studio stylist eye shadow in Casual brown
3. Lakme eye artist pen
4. Colorbar I-define pencil in Desert glow
5. Colorbar high definition kohl liner in Brownie
6. Chambor eye shadow trio in Bronze. (Any shimmery dark brown shadow will do)
7. Lakme eye quartet in Moondust (For eyebrow fill; optional)
8. Colorbar duo mascara
9. Q-tips, eye shadow brush, Pan cake/concealer brush, Smudger brush.

Getting started-

When I say eye makeup, the first thing that comes to my mind is creating a base. You cannot start a makeup session without your primed canvas in place.
I find that a combination of concealer and compact powder creates a perfect base. I use Lakme 9 to 5 Crรจme to powder compact as it gives me advantages of both. You can use any concealer or eye makeup primer. [SEE Photos]

Start colouring-
a. For the golden eye look, first give a wash of light brown colour all over your eye. I am using Maybelline studio stylist eye shadow in Casual brown.

b. Then line your upper and lower lash lines with Lakme eye artist pen. (Any liquid/gel eyeliner will do). Keep the line thin and very close to the lashes.

c. Apply brown kohl to the waterline.

d. Line the upper lash line with Colorbar I-define pencil in Desert glow (Any gold liner or kohl pencil will suffice). Keep the gold line just above the black line.

e. The gold line should be dense. Smudge the gold line lightly to cover the entire eyelid.

f. Now use a dark brown shimmery eye shadow in the outer corner of the eye. I am using the darkest shade from Chambor eye shadow trio in Bronze.

g. Blend well so that the colour graduates seamlessly from gold to brown.
h. Line the lower outer corner of your eye with the gold pencil and blend well.
i. Highlight the brow bone with a light shade. I am using the lightest shade from Chambor eye shadow trio in Bronze.

k. Use mascara generously on upper and lower lashes.
l. Repeat with the other eye.

To finish the look I generally use hint of bronze on my cheeks (Colorbar Just earth blush) and a dewy lipstick. I use dirty brownish pink (Thatโ€™s my pink) for daytime and casual wear. You can replace this with your perfect red colour and you are ready to rock the night!!!

  6. Nice one..I just saw this today..

Point b. Then line your upper and lower lash lines with Lakme eye artist pen. (Any liquid/gel eyeliner will do). Keep the line thin and very close to the lashes.

How did u manage to put the liner so close to ur lash on the lower lid – that too such a fine line? I can never do that. I always tend to ruin the liner by the time i reach the outer corner(V).
    Any tricks/tips?

    1. I generally apply a liner with short strokes and I line it without bothering too much about the perfection. Then I fill in the gaps or correct the crooked parts. If I need a bit more correction, I use an earbud to clena up my mistakes. However it ia also the matter of practice. Now I somehow make clean and perfect lines. ๐Ÿ™‚

    2. Hey Anoma, It’s just a matter of practice.. I’ve been using liners since i was 16!!! Also the pen tip makes it much easier.. :-))
