Sunday Riley Juno Hydroactive Cellular Face Oil Review

Hello everyone,

I have been hooked on to Sunday Riley skin care ever since I tried the amazing Luna Sleeping Night Oil. A while ago, I hauled two of the Sunday Riley products and this review will be on the Juno Hydroactive Cellular Face Oil.

Sunday Riley Juno Hydroactive Cellular Face Oil

Product Details:
A powerful dry oil that increases glow and radiance without the typical greasiness associated with oils.

What it is formulated to do:
This face oil features a botanically active blend of cold-pressed, powerhouse, superfood seed oils. It nourishes the skin with critical antioxidants, vitamins, essential amino acids, omegas 3, 6, and 9, UV shields, and natural anti-inflammatory agents for a luminous, radiant complexion. Powerful antioxidants protect against free radical damage, while vitamins A and C help brighten skin and support natural collagen. Versatile and easy to use, it sinks in deeply, leaving skin hydrated, protected, and velvety soft for an obsession-worthy glow. It is formulated without parabens, sulfates, and phthalates.  This cruelty-free product is vegan, gluten-free, and hypoallergenic.

My Experience with Sunday Riley Juno Hydroactive Cellular Face Oil:

Packaging:  I love how this product comes packaged. It is housed in a sturdy box. The bottle itself is glass and has a dropper dispenser.

Texture/Consistency and Feel on skin:  This oil is a thinner oil compared to Luna. It is much lighter in texture, feel and on the skin. It absorbs faster and does not feel too sticky or greasy hence it is even good to use during the day time, which is not the same for Luna sleeping oil. I have dry skin and on days when my skin is feeling very dull and dehydrated, I use a couple of drops of this oil on my skin and wait for a couple of minutes for it to sink in before doing my makeup. It gives such a gorgeous glow and radiance to the skin and makes my makeup glide on smoothly. It does not make my makeup look greasy or shiny by the end of the day.

I also use this oil at night time occasionally, but for that, I feel like I have to use a generous amount of about 5 drops for it to feel like it is doing something to deeply hydrating and nourish my dry skin. Even then, I don’t feel like it does a great job at reducing my dry patches and deeply moisturizing my skin as Luna sleeping oil does. Hence I will mostly stick to using this as my day time oil.

Due to its super light non-greasy nature, I feel it can even be used by those with oily skin. My husband has oily, acne-prone skin and he usually is very lazy with his skin care, hence I urge him to incorporate this super easy routine of taking 1-2 drops and patting it on his face, and it doesn’t feel like a chore to him. He hasn’t noticed his oily skin getting oilier with this oil and it did not make his acne flare up. He really likes this product.

I absolutely love the ingredients list and the blend of all natural oils and the fact that they are rich in vitamins and antioxidants. There are some oils in this which claim to enhance but not replace UV protection which is a good quality to have and it claims to improve elasticity and fight premature ageing, both of which only time will tell as I am still in my mid-20s and prevention is the thing I am looking for in skin care.

Fragrance:  This oil has a moderately strong herbal scent which does linger for a while on the skin. I personally do not find this scent offensive, but that may not be the case with everyone.

Sunday Riley Juno Hydroactive Cellular Face Oil

Overall, I do really like this product, but if I had to choose between this and Luna sleeping night oil, I will go with the Luna oil just because Luna works better to hydrate and nourish my dry skin. I love the fact that it also claims to contain a form of retinol which makes it a great addition to my anti-ageing skin care regime. Though I do think Juno makes an excellent day time oil that you can blend in with your skin care to give it an extra boost of lightweight hydration and glow to the skin. This product will also be loved by oily/combination skin too.

I will recommend this if you looking for an easy way to perk up your dull skin while leaving a lightweight layer of hydration all the while having the peace of mind of using amazing all-natural ingredients that are like superfood for your skin and will eventually show anti-ageing effects in the long run.

  1. Lovely detailed review !! Totally love Sunday Riley Luna and also ceramic slip cleanser . Try its bionic I’m sure you’ll love it.

  2. Sounds awesome for oily/combination skin. I always look for this kind of face oil which is non greasy but fulfil the need of moisturiser. Although the product is damn expensive but considering the quantity and after effects I think it will be a good investment for my anti ageing skin care regime.

    1. I love facial oils as we’ll.. I agree about it being an investment but it will last u a long time.. There is a generous amount of product
