Sunsilk Ceramides Conditioner Review

Sunsilk Ceramides Conditioner

“Do you have guilty little secrets about the way you treat your hair? Blow-drying, brushing through knots, tying or clipping it back often, even though you know you may be damaging it?”, asks the label. Well, I avoid using a hairdryer like a plague (I don’t even have one), but as for the rest, I am guilty as charged.

Sunsilk ceramide shampoo

Product Information:
Sunsilk Ceramides Conditioner fights everyday wear and tear with Ceramides and hair protein building blocks, which penetrate the hair to moisturize and strengthen, leaving it beautifully soft and strong.

After cleansing with Sunsilk Ceramides Shampoo, apply to towel-dried hair. Leave for 1 minute, rinse thoroughly and enjoy hair that’s beautifully healthy looking.

My Thoughts about Sunsilk Ceramides Conditioner:

I bought Sunsilk Ceramides Conditioner because of the great smell and extremely low price, I thought that since it didn’t cost much, I could give it a try.

Sunsilk conditioner

I can’t really say I was impressed by the container, but at least, it’s practical and doesn’t slip away in the shower. The conditioner itself is creamy white and rather thick. I adored the fragrance, but it doesn’t stay on the hair, which is a big disadvantage, since I love it when my hair smells nice.

Because I have very long hair, I usually use conditioners that don’t require towel-drying before (lazy, I know!), so I found the application too time consuming and quite annoying, but this is just me being fussy. The product glides well onto the hair and afterwards it rinses without any hassle.

This conditioner fights the frizz and makes it easier to brush your hair after washing, but it doesn’t do much in the way of actual conditioning. It makes my hair feel a little softer and smoother without a greasy feeling, but these are just short-term effects. I have been using it a few weeks to make sure and I can’t say there’s much difference. It didn’t make my hair worse, but there was no significant improvement either.

Conclusion – Pros and Cons:

+ Makes it easier to comb your hair.
+ Nice smell.
+ Practical container.
+ Rinses quickly and cleanly.
+ Efficient.
+ Price.

– No long-term effects.
– The smell doesn’t stay on the hair (might be a plus for some people, though).
– It doesn’t moisturize as it claims to do, which is a deal-breaker for me.

My Rating:

2.25 out of 5 – it’s a shame, because I really like some of Sunsilk products. It’s true that the conditioner it efficient and I still have a lot left, but what’s the point of using it if it doesn’t work? It’s time to switch.

P.S.:  I actually couldn’t find a lot of information about this product on the Internet. I guess it was discontinued (or they changed the container to something more fancy).
