Sunsilk Nourishing Soft and Smooth Intensive Treatment Mask Review

Dear Beauties,
Sunsilk Nourishing Soft and Smooth Intensive Treatment Mask
Since I landed in KL I was looking out for a good hair mask since most of my favorite hair care products were left back in India due to luggage restrictions 🙁 While browsing through Watsons I huge range of Sunsilk hair products and since I loved their latest Keratinology products I thought I might as well give Sunsilk Nourishing Soft and Smooth Intensive Treatment Mask a try! Also this entire range of Sunsilk Soft and Smooth is enriched with 5 oils like argan, almond, coconut, camellia and babassu!

Sunsilk as a brand has always been quite good to my hair 😀 I have used sunsilk products since my school days and never really had any problems with them. So what does Sunsilk say about their Nourishing Soft and Smooth range:-

Moroccan Argan Oil
Or ‘liquid gold’, is rich in anti-oxidants and said to contain twice as much vitamin E as olive oil – and leaves a lovely light feeling. The trees that produce it are so precious they’re protected by the United Nations

Camellia Oil
The darling of the beauty industry for enhancing hair shine, it’s sourced from wild Camellia flowers in China and Japan. It was famous among ladies of the Imperial Court for its ability to revitalize hair with a deep glow

Almond Oil
Packed with lipid and vitamin E, it nourishes the hair and gives increased elasticity. Also moisturizes the scalp and prevents hair becoming dry and brittle

Babassu Oil
The oil of the Brazilian Babassu palm moisturizes both scalp and hair for a soft look and weightless feel. It’s a natural conditioner – local women love it because it’s absorbed into the hair and leaves no residue

Coconut Oil
Traditionally used to repair damage to skin and hair. Contains a compound called lauric acid – it provides nourishment for hair while creating a weightless protective barrier that retains moisture and gives long-lasting suppleness

My experience with Sunsilk Nourishing Soft and Smooth Intensive Treatment Mask

I have been using this mask since about 3 weeks now and I definitely like it a lot! I use this mask twice a week directly after shampooing my hair. The mask comes in plastic yellow container with a screw lid. The container has detailed info printed on it along with entire ingredient lists. The packaging is quite normal and does not feel bulky to carry around.

The consistency of the mask is quite thick and spreads easily on hair. The moment you open the lid you are hit by a strong sweet smell which to be honest is not my favorite! I like subtle fragrance but this mask has quite a strong fragrance but nothing to worry about since it does not last longer once its washed 🙂 So gals having sensitive nose need not worry.

So is this mask effective? Yes it definitely is effective in making my hair soft, smooth and manageable! As you all know I have quite long hair and they are very much prone to tangles. This mask helped to keep my hair soft and tangle free to a large extent! It does impart shine to my hair and controlled frizziness as well.

The mask is quite moisturizing on hair so I feel you need to use it in moderation or else it can weigh down the hair and make them appear limp! Do not use this mask if you have oiled your hair since it can make your hair appear limp. It did not add any volume to my hair but than I wasnt expecting it.

Pros of Sunsilk Nourishing Soft and Smooth Intensive Treatment Mask

-> Makes hair soft and smooth
-> Keeps hair tangle free for 1 to 2 days
-> Does not weigh down your hair or make them appear limp
-> Imparts soft shine to hair
-> Controls frizziness
-> Does not make scalp oily or leave residue behind
-> Texture is creamy and spreads easily on hair

Cons of Sunsilk Nourishing Soft and Smooth Intensive Treatment Mask

-> Though not a con but if used over it will weigh down the hair
-> Strong sweet smell which personally I dislike!
-> Does not do anything for volume of hair
-> The effects wears off after couple of days

Price: 12 to 14 RM depending upon the pharmacy for 200ml

Rating: 3.8 out of 5

Do I recommend: Yes! If you have extremely dry hair you can definitely give it a shot but stay away if you have oily hair! I still love my Keratinology mask more and hoping to re-purchase once this is over 🙂

hope the review was helpful to you all, until next time tc and stay beautiful!

  1. Lovely ,…. since u have nice long hair I would buy this if you recommend …though not available in Aus ,..I visit KL often…

      1. Sure Parita,…. I’ll let you know …..its cos Malaysia according to my opinion is the most interesting place closer to AUS.. 🙂

  2. I have been off silicones and sls for a while with the bodyshop rainforest range – should I switch back to them with the keratinology one ? I`m a bit confused here. going off sls definitely helped volumise my hair but i suspect it isnt as shiny as it was when i used the cones. 😛
