Superfacialist Rose Hydrate Cleanser by Una Brennan

Hey everyone!

Today I will be reviewing the Superfacialist Rose Hydrate Cleanser by Una Brennan. This is a pretty new purchase, I’ve been using this product for around two or three weeks now, but I love it!

I am not sure of how many of you have heard of this brand, but I came across it in my local boots store quite recently and there are a whole range of different products, with each range designed to do different things for the skin. For example, there is a Vitamin C range which is designed to brighten the skin, a Neroli range which has anti-ageing products, a tea flower range which has been designed to deep clean the skin and finally there is the Rose range which is designed to hydrate skin.

I decided to buy a product from the Rose range because it claims to be great for sensitive skin, which seemed really appealing to me because I have sensitive skin and tend to get breakouts on my cheeks and forehead.

Price– £7.99 for 150ml (UK)

Ingredients: This cleanser greatly appeals to me because of the ingredients in it. It doesn’t contain any harsh chemicals and it contains beneficial ingredients such as marshmallow extract and Allantoin which are really good for sensitive skin.
This is what it says at the back of the product:

My take on Superfacialist Rose Hydrate Cleanser by Una Brennan:

I like to use creamy cleansers normally because I find that they leave my skin feeling very fresh and cleansed and this cleanser is no exception- it has a very creamy texture and it glides very well over the skin.

Not only do I love it’s creamy, luxurious texture but I also really like it’s amazing fragrance- it has a gorgeous scent of roses and it is not too overpowering in my opinion. The rose scent doesn’t smell artificial, it smells very fresh and natural and because it is natural, it hydrates and soothes my skin. If the product were to contain artificial fragrance, it would definitely have aggravated my skin, but this cleanser doesn’t do that at all. Although the product is rose scented, the colour of the product is not coloured- it is white.

As well as this, after I finish using this cleanser, my skin does not feel tight and uncomfortable. A lot of cleansers have left my skin feeling like this, but this one doesn’t do that. A great advantage of this cleanser is that a little product goes a long way- I take a small blob of product and this is sufficient for my whole face and neck. The product doesn’t foam, it simply goes on like a moisturising cream and then when it gets in contact with water, it becomes quite milky.

The amount of product that comes in the container is also great- It comes in a 150ml tube. I personally think that the cleanser is very decently priced for the amount of product you are getting in the tube.

As for the immediate effects after using this cleanser, like I said, it leaves my skin cleansed and feeling very soft. This is because the cleanser is very gentle and it gets rid of any makeup, dirt or oil you might have lingering around on your face.

As for long term effects of this cleanser, I have found that I get fewer breakouts whilst using this product and my skin texture has improved greatly. It always used to be very dry and sensitive but now after using this cleanser, I have found that my skin has improved greatly!

How I apply the cleanser: I apply the cleanser onto dry skin, rather than damp skin and then I take a flannel (I purchase my flannels from Primark because they are so cheap) and I wet the flannel with hot water. I wring the flannel out, to get rid of any excess water and I lay the flannel over my face. I let the flannel lie on my face for a few minutes and then I use the flannel to wipe off the product.

I do this step because the hot flannel gently steams my skin and feels very invigorating and I use the flannel to wipe my skin because the rough texture of the flannel acts as a great exfoliator. After doing this, I rinse my face with water- cold water is best. Alternatively, you can always use cotton pads and carry out the same steps as above- it won’t have the same exfoliating effect but it will still do a great job of cleansing your skin.

Cons of Superfacialist Rose Hydrate Cleanser by Una Brennan:

I don’t find anything wrong with this product, apart from the fact that it may be hard to purchase in other countries, other than the UK.
