Tanaka Face Contouring Massage Technique

One of my aunts had a horrible double chin even though she was pretty young (all of 37!) and very lean. She never misses a single day of her workout and food habits are healthy enough. She tried all sorts of facials and treatments, but one thing she didn’t do or rather didn’t want to do was getting under the knife!

Yoga helped her to a certain extent; her skin was becoming taut, but there was no major difference to the double chin.  It was then that she discovered the Hisako Tanaka Face Contouring Massage while she was surfing for remedies on the Internet.

Who is Hisako Tanaka?

Hisako Tanaka is a famous Japanese MUA.  In the videos (in the links given above) Ms. Hisako Tanaka herself explains the procedure of the massage.

What’s in the videos?

In the above videos, Ms. Tanaka explains very clearly how the Tanaka massage is done. The steps she shows are to be followed in that particular sequential order. After she does it on the model, the model is also shown doing the massage for herself so that it’s easier for people who have to do it for themselves.

What Products Do You Require For Tanaka Massage?

  • Any massage cream, oil or even a mild scrub will do.
  • A pair of hands!
  • Patience (at least in the beginning)!!

Does it Work?

Totally! My aunt COMPLETELY lost her stubborn double chin in around 7-8 weeks! Long time, I know, but it paid to be persistent!

I have started doing this massage for myself since the past 3 weeks. I do not have any major skin or contour issues, so I can’t say it actually did anything for me, but it did give my skin a warm glow, and made it soft and supple.

Pros of Tanaka Face Contouring Massage Technique:

  • It works!
  • Once you get the hang of it, it takes less than 4-5 minutes to finish the full massage!
  • Noticeable difference.

Cons of Tanaka Face Contouring Massage Technique:

  • The steps are in a sequence, it has to be remembered and done in that sequence only!
  • It takes time to get the hang of it. Requires oodles of patience when you’re just starting.
  • Has to be a daily routine for visible results.
