Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush Paaarty Review

Hey lovely ladies,

I was all geared up to review a couple of lip shades and I suddenly found this Tarte Amazonian Clay blush in my stash, so I thought let’s review this blush first – since I am in the flow of reviewing face products! I have wanted to try this range for a very long time, but some reason or the other stopped me from getting it. Finally, I got to try this range – so, here are more details on Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush Paaarty.

Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush Paaarty Review

Product Description:
A long-wearing, solar-baked blush that lasts up to 12 hours. Infused with natural clay harvested from the banks of the Amazon River and naturally baked by the sun, this nutrient-rich blush benefits all skin types for a fade-free flawless finish that lasts an amazing 12 hours. Inspired by Tarte’s bestselling shades of cheek stains and lip tints, the colors range from soft to vivid to suit a wide variety of skin tones. For oily skin types, Amazonian clay minimizes oil in and around pores to balance skin and keep product in place. Those with dry skin will benefit from the clay’s nourishing and hydrating properties, which naturally restore skin’s moisture. Combination skin types can rely on its ability to zero in on skin concerns and deliver benefits to restore complexion harmony. The result: Blush that wears better, longer, and truer. It is formulated without parabens, sulfates, and phthalates. This product is free of petrochemicals, synthetic fragrances, GMOs, and triclosan.
Price:
$29 for 5.6gm of product.

Packaging:
The packaging on these blushes is quite simple but cute and functional. The blush comes packaged in a plastic compact. There is a nice mirror inside, but no applicator. The case is plain except for the Tarte branding on top and the shade name and weight details on the flip side. The cool thing about this blush range is that the blush compact is colour coordinated to the blush shade inside it. This makes it super easy to spot the shade you want. The compact comes packaged in a cardboard exterior cover.

My Experience with Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush Paaarty:

Shade: The shade “Paaarty,” is kind of weird. It is a light, cool-toned dusty pink-tinged beige shade – absolutely lacklustre in the pan. It looks quite light and extremely “meh” in the pan. I was kind of disappointed with the shade and wondered if I should even try it on. But being a beauty junkie, you have to give it a shot, right? I’m glad I did. The shade swatches pretty much the same as in the pan, but once applied, it looks absolutely lovely. It is such a natural-looking shade. I quite liked it.

The only flip side to the shade is that though this will work beautifully on fair to light to medium skin tones, I doubt if it will even show up on tanned or deep skin tones.

Texture: The texture of this was surprisingly smooth, almost creamy. I don’t know why, but I had a thought that this range has more stiffer powders. This one seems quite nice. Each pan is embossed with a particular design, I believe it depicts the Amazon river flowing through the forest, quite distinct in layout. The powder is finely milled and I had no trouble picking it up with the brush or blending it on the skin. It blends easily which is so surprising considering the shade in the pan!

Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush Paaarty pigmentation

Pigmentation: Pigmentation is very good. Considering how light the shade is, I had my doubts if it would even show up on my skin, but I feel it shows up easily and distinctly. I did not have to build it up multiple times. 1.5-2 layers is sufficient for it to be distinct for photography.

Longevity: Strangely, with such a pale looking shade, I did not expect much, but it stayed put for about 8 hours or so post which it starting fading along with my base makeup.

FOTD: In the pics, I have this on and I understand that it clashes horribly with my warm eye makeup. However, this is the challenge I face when I am trying something new and forget to take the undertones into consideration; however, you are able to see the shade in action.

IMBB Rating:
4.5/5

I was pleasantly surprised with the shade and the quality of the product. I don’t know if it was because of the preconceived notion I had about the range or it was because it was a gift and I had not done any due diligence of checking reviews, etc., which I would normally do if I were to purchase it myself. I do recommend it but with caution – only for fair to medium skin tone. Would advise anyone with deeper tone to try before you buy!
