Today, I’m reviewing a highlighter by Tarte in the shade “Daygleam”. Tarte is a well known brand on the high-end side for their eye shadow palettes and their 12-Hour Amazonian clay products. Highlighters are one of my absolute favourite products to try! I came across it while Tarte was having a 20% off sale online, since I signed up for their mailing list. Read on to know more about it.

My Experience with Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Highlighter in Daygleam:
I have combination skin, oily around the T-zone and dry on my cheeks. Most highlighters emphasize my pores if I don’t use a primer. This highlighter is a very pretty rose gold shade and I think it’s most flattering on medium-dark skin tones. I think that the duo was a pretty good deal considering both the highlighter and lip product were in full size and Tarte is a high-end brand. An individual Amazonian clay 12-hour highlighter (in the different shades they sell online) are originally $28.
The packaging is a simple, round compact with a mirror. It is strong and travel-friendly. There is a good amount of product provided, especially for the price. This shade is not available for individual sale, but they sell other shades. I think that this particular shade would suit a large scale of skin tones.
It takes a few swatches to really show up on my cheeks, but I tend to use a light hand while putting on highlighter. I can’t really decide whether it’s on the sheer or shimmery side, so I’ll settle for saying it’s in the middle. Just like any other highlighter, you would apply it across your cheek bones, down your nose, under the brows and a touch on the cupid’s bow. This shimmer is not overpowering or considerably noticeable. It has a nice consistency and blends pretty easily. I would recommend it for an everyday or more natural look, because it’s not too intense.
The staying power is definitely one of the bonuses. I wouldn’t say it lasts for actual 12 hours, but it definitely doesn’t wear off easily. The first few hours, it really looks like a “glow”, but then it’s more of a “shine” as the day goes on.

- If you look under the ingredients, it doesn’t contain many of the harmful chemicals that are often found in cosmetics.

Would I Repurchase/Recommend Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Highlighter in Daygleam?
I personally don’t think I’ll be repurchasing this product because, I have found highlighters with better formulas, staying power and shades that suit my skin better, but I do like this product. I would definitely recommend it to others because, it’s a steal!
