Today, I am here to share my views about Tarte BB Tinted Treatment 12-Hour Primer SPF 30. It’s a tinted, lightweight beauty balm with sun protection. Read on to know more about it.

A 5-in-1 long wear, vegan treatment primer that can be used under (or instead of) foundation for smoother, brighter skin. Hydrates, helps smooth fine lines, works to correct dullness and enlarged pores and protects your complexion with SPF 30, all while providing lightweight coverage. It contains triple B complex to help brighten, smooth and soften your skin.
How to Use:
Can be worn alone or under foundation for smoother makeup application and enhanced coverage. Dispense a small amount to the back of your hand, then using a foundation brush or your fingertips, lightly dab onto face and gently blend. Use it with Amazonian clay 12-hour foundation SPF 15.
Packaging:
Tarte BB Tinted Treatment 12-Hour Primer SPF 30 comes packaged in a white coloured tube with a wooden screw open cap. A tinted beige coloured floral spray design wraps the centre of the tube; the product’s name has been mentioned in a white coloured font in the front. The wooden cap adds uniqueness to the packaging. This tube comes packaged in an aubergine coloured cardboard box. The packaging is travel-friendly.
My Experience with Tarte BB Tinted Treatment 12-Hour Primer SPF 30:
I’ve recently started experimenting with various BB creams. I have been using Jane Iredale Glow Time Full Coverage Mineral BB Cream, which gives full coverage. I wanted to experiment with something different and opted for this one by Tarte. I opted for this one because this is a BB cream cum primer, offers sun protection and is long-lasting.
The BB cream also has Triple B complex, which is a proprietary blend of natural diamond powder, plants and lipoamino acids. It helps to diffuse light and minimises the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and pores while improving the appearance of skin luminosity. I opted for the medium shade for my moderately fair skin. This is a tone darker but does suit my skin colour.
The coverage is sheer to medium. It can be worn alone above a moisturiser for sheer coverage or under a powder compact or foundation for medium to full coverage. The texture is smooth and lightweight, and it applies smoothly and evenly. However, it tends to settle into dry patches, if the skin is not exfoliated and moisturised properly.
This BB tinted cream suits my sensitive and combination skin, which is acne prone too. It does not irritate, dry out or cause any breakouts on my sensitive skin. However, it is necessary to apply a moisturiser under this cream. The weather is becoming a bit cooler and my skin texture tends to dry easily, so I feel this cream needs to applied over a nicely exfoliated, moisturised and toned skin. Otherwise, it would settle into dry patches, making the skin appear flaky.
In my opinion, normal to oily and combination skin types can opt for this BB cream. However, dry skin types must use it over nicely exfoliated, thoroughly moisturised and toned skin; extremely dry skin types can simply skip this product. This is my personal opinion and experience, which can vary from person to person, depending on their skin type and weather conditions.
A thin layer of this BB tinted primer works best above any moisturiser and under a foundation. I usually apply it above a moisturiser and under a powder foundation for medium coverage. My skin feels smooth, even and younger. It prepares the skin for the smooth application of makeup. It minimises pores and helps conceal fine lines too.
It does not completely cover blemishes, dark spots or under eye circles. Hence, a concealer is required to take care of those issues. I have used this BB tinted primer over my pimples and it did not irritate or aggravate them. In fact, it helped soothe and calm my skin. The lasting power is too good as it easily lasts ten to twelve hours.
It’s a tinted beauty balm cum primer which treats, protects and enhances the beauty of the facial skin. I apply it using my fingers and sometimes using Color Me Pro Edition Applicator in Rose Gold to obtain a flawless, silky and smooth finish.
