We all know how essential a flawless base is for a flawless face of makeup. Unfortunately, not all of us are born with perfect skin and most of us suffer from issues such as open pores and fine lines which can contribute to your foundation looking less than perfect. Today, I share with you a product that has become a staple for me in my priming routine for makeup. Read on to know more about my experience with Tarte Clean Slate Timeless Smoothing Primer.

My Experience with Tarte Clean Slate Timeless Smoothing Primer:

Packaging: This primer comes in a tub hence you do have the unhygienic factor or dipping your fingers in but you could always use a spatula if you like.

Texture: This primer has a very unique, thick, almost whipped cream texture but it is very dense. To use this, you simply take a little amount and use it only on targeted problem areas, which for me, are open pores around my nose and fine lines. I don’t find this primer to be an “over the face” type product.

The trick to use this is to pat and dab the product on your skin so that it settles and fills in those open pores so that your foundation does not settle in them. DO not rub the product as it will cause it to ball up. It is a learning curve but once you get it right, it does a fabulous job and making every single pore vanish like magic. It sets to completely dry almost powdery smooth like silky feeling on the skin.

You could use it just by itself if you want your skin to look extra flawless up close or under foundation.

I have normal to dry skin and I did not find this to accentuate my dryness. My foundation does not crack or settle or get shiny in the area I have used this primer under.

Overall, this is a fantastic and must-have product if you are looking to target open pores and give your skin a perfect appearance. I usually don’t opt for a silicone0based primer for all over my face. I use other kinds of hydrating primers and only use this for targeted areas where my foundation tends to settle in. I would highly recommend this.
