Anyway, I am here to talk about my new love for cheek stains. Considering I have oily skin, I always skipped these flush stains but, thanks to my 30s skin which is turning dull and dry, I crave for hydrating products. My Experience with Tarte Exposed Cheek Stain:

Tarte packaged these beauties in beautiful retractable chubby small bullet packaging with a safety twist-over cap. However, the mechanism of pushing the blush up with thrust and retracting it with external pressure (obviously our fingers or palm) irks me out. I mean, this is the first time I have come across such a unique concept of retracting blush packaging but I don’t like it. It has a citrusy smell which usually subsides post application. Over all, other than its packaging, I find it pretty user-friendly and travel-friendly.

My shade “Exposed” is defined as a nude pink cheek stain while it looks a bit rosy mauve pink on my skin tone with a subtle shimmery sheen. I find it perfect for my pale skin tone all year round considering it gives a nearly natural yet visible flush to my cheeks with face-lifting effects. However, it might appear too pale, washing out the tanned deep skin tones.

Talking about the texture, it is really a soft gel-type texture. It’s not like those creamy balmy stains. This Tarte stain will work for every skin type including dry skin, combination and even oily skin as I find it perfect for my oily skin type. Let me tell you I have weird skin – my cheek area behaves like a desert while the T-zone is an infamous oil producing area. And, I should applaud this blush for making my cheeks look visibly youthful, softer and non-patchy. It also takes care of my oily skin and acne issues as well.

It has never accentuated or emphasized my pores which are very well visible near the apples of my cheeks, and it never settles into the uneven texture of my skin. Impressive, haan! I love how it simply blends on my skin like second skin thereby imparting a youthful and subtle “glow from within” effect. I can simply dot it over my cheeks and blend it in with a sponge or fingertips. Even the soft strokes of a blush brush imparts an even toned finish on my skin without any streaky or patchy finish. How cool is that!

In fact, I love the soft and supple finish on my skin. It makes my skin look more youthful and natural. Moreover the blush stays intact for good 7-8 hours on my skin with a visible lift and color pay off thereby it fades into a soft stain. But, I am fine with touch-ups considering the ease of application. I like how it stays in place without transferring.

It does not feel sticky or tacky in feel or appearance and it is the most forgiving formula. I am so glad that I finally settled with mera wala nude pink and I am sure fairer, pale/light beauties will love it for that subtle, natural glow and visible cheek-lift effects. I would definitely get it again.
