Tarte is one of the most-raved about brands in cosmetic industry. Apart from their 12-hour Amazonian Clay blushes, Tarte Lip Surgence range is quite famous too. I have tried a few of them and have liked them a lot. Here, I am reviewing today the shade “Kiss” from the Lipsurgence range.
Inspired by Tarte’s award-winning lip tints, this glossy addition to the LipSurgence™ family will perfect your pout with a brightening pop of color and lasting shine. Product Performance: This hybrid addition to Tarte’s signature LipSurgence™ line delivers all the plumped-up benefits of a gloss and pigmented performance of a tint in an antioxidant-rich formula. Each ultra-hydrating, vanilla-flavored lip gloss imparts natural-looking color to enhance your complexion while drenching lips in moisture and mega-watt, non-sticky shine. Infused with vitamin E, jojoba seed oil and flower extract, this multi-tasking formula helps smooth the look of fine lines and wrinkles while moisturizing dry lips for a healthy, plumped-up appearance that lasts. The unique applicator wand features an ergonomic tip that gently glides around the shape of your lips for a foolproof application every time.
Formulated without parabens, formulated without mineral oil, formulated without phthalates, formulated without sodium lauryl sulfates, formulated without gluten.
My Experience with Tarte Kiss Lipsurgence Lip Gloss:
Packaging: I quite like the packaging. Though it has nothing remarkable or unique, yet it is appealing and travel friendly. The doe-foot applicator helps with precise application.
Texture/Consistency/Finish: Tarte Lip Surgence Lip Gloss Kiss has a thick texture and is slightly fragrant, in a pleasant manner though. The thick consistency makes it a little bit sticky and long lasting on the lips. The formula is somewhat creamy and glides on easily. The formula is hydrating on the lips and doesn’t allow dryness to reach the lips once you have applied the product. It contains shimmer particles that give a sparkly finish, but do not look over the top at all.
Color and Pigmentation: Kiss from Tarte Lip Surgence Lip Gloss range is a baby pink shade with silver sparkles. The pigmentation is on the lighter side and the gloss will do nothing for pigmented lips. The product is sadly for those with natural pink lips.
Staying Power: The thick texture of the lip gloss makes it long lasting despite poor pigmentation even though it’s a light shade. It lasts for 4-5 hours on average. It doesn’t transfer to cutlery or objects.
Summing up the positives and setbacks:
Pros of Tarte Kiss Lipsurgence Lip Gloss:
- A light baby pink shade, beautiful, and good for no-makeup day looks.
- Perfect for teenagers and college girls.
- Sparkles are not over the top.
- Long wearing, even though it’s a light shade.
- Good formula.
- Feels hydrating on the lips.
- Travel friendly.
Cons of Tarte Kiss Lipsurgence Lip Gloss:
- Pigmentation is not that good.
- Looks sheer on pigmented lips.
- Shimmer particles.
- Feels slightly sticky.
