My Experience with Tarte Tarteist Lip Paint – So Fetch:

tube

This shade is housed in a gloss kind of plastic tube packaging with a doe foot applicator. It does have a mild, minty smell and flavor which might be of concern to beauties with sensitive noses. Overall, it is quite user friendly and travel friendly.

name

The shade “So Fetch” is described as a medium coral pink, which is pretty true to its description as I find it very similar to my Bite Beauty High Pigment Pencil Corvina in color pay off as well as in finish. It does look tricky for pale/light/fair skin tones, yet I feel it can work. I also like its texture which seems neither liquidy nor creamy, more like a mousse. The consistency is bit dry yet spreadable and hugs my lip contours so well that it actually enhances them.

applicator

I have realized that even if it might forgive mild dryness on my lips, it does demand well scrubbed and hydrated lips. But, once it is set on my lips, I don’t feel any dryness or the need of using a lip balm for several hours. Like I mentioned earlier in “Lovespell” review, this lip paint has a self adjusting formula, which leads to even finish and semi-matte color pay off. It never sets into a complete dry matte stain.

open tube

Yes gals, all these lip paints maintain a mousse-like, powdery, semi-matte finish on my lips which does dry a bit over time. But then it transfers to everything yet stays for good 5-6 hours. I don’t think touch-up will give an even finish to this matte stain. This particular shade is more on the dry side and comes up nearly opaque.

hand swatch

It is impressive to note that it neither settles into the lip lines nor highlights them; in fact, it forgives minor dryness on the lips for initial couple of hours without aggravating or accentuating further dryness. I am quite impressed with this shade though I feel that beauties with dry lips might find it tricky after a couple of hours as it transforms to a matte powdery formula.

And like the previous shade, we have no scope to correct even minor mistakes on our skin as the slightest stain won’t come off easily unless we use a makeup remover. Secondly, I feel that it will need fresh application after fading, especially on dry lips as the remnants of the lip paint adhere to dry patches. Personally, I might get it again as I do like the the opaque, powdery finish of these lip paints.

Let’s sum up pros and cons:

Pros of Tarte Tarteist Lip Paint – So Fetch:

• A creamy matte coral pink liquid lipstick with non-drying, non-sticky formula
• Spreads easily
• Does not settle into the lip lines
• The finish is nearly opaque with intense color pay off in just 1-2 swipes
• Does not accentuate or aggravate dry lips issues
• Lips feels soft and supple as long as the shade stays on lips
• Does not dry out the lips
• Stays on for 5-6 hours
• Quite reasonable, travel friendly packaging

Cons of Tarte Tarteist Lip Paint – So Fetch:

• Does have a mild minty flavor
• This shade is tricky for dry and parched lips
• Shade might be tricky for some skin tones
• Transfers a lot
• Requires fresh application after meals
• Pricey

I really don’t see the price as a con, though I guess we might get this quality at lower price too while other concerns can be easily looked. I think if you love semi-matte formula, you should totally check this range out.
