Tarte Tarteist Pro Glow to Go Highlight and Contour Palette Review

Product Purchased by IMBB

Hi ladies,

Today’s review is on another “bang on” product by Tarte – the Pro Glow To Go Highlight and Contour Palette. I was eyeing this palette for quite some time now and finally purchased it from Sephora. This palette consists of 3 beautiful shades for highlighting and contouring. Without further ado, let’s jump into the review.

Price:
US $23
Product Description:
Inspired by makeup artist techniques, this portable highlight and contour palette helps you glow on-the-go using healthy ingredients. Designed to work on every skin tone, the three exclusive shades have rich, cool undertones to mimic real shadow and light reflection for the most natural look. Two intense highlighting powders deliver a buildable, microshimmer strobe, and the universal matte contouring powder adds balanced dimension powered by longwearing Amazonian clay for fade-free payoff.

My Experience with Tarte Tarteist Pro Glow to Go Highlight and Contour Palette:

Tarte does an amazing job with their packaging every time. Since this palette is affordable unlike their other eye palettes, it’s packaging also looks like a pocket-friendly product but not leaving its luxurious appearance. It comes in a black cardboard box with the product’s picture on it and back bears all information such as ingredients, weight etc. The actual product comes housed in a cardboard palette with mirror on one side and 3 pans fixed on the other side filled with pans. The mirror is super clear and appears good quality. Overall, it’s a nice and sturdy packaging which is travel friendly and easy to carry around.

Considering its price, I believe it’s a good deal. In this palette, you get 2 highlight shades and 1 contour shade. They are moderately pigmented and give pretty natural highlight and contour. I will review each shade separately below:

Gleam:  Gleam is a beautiful cool-toned highlight shade. You only need two applications to get a blinding highlight on cheekbones. This one is insanely pigmented and only one swipe is sufficient for a natural highlight. I believe this shade would suit lighter skin tones more than wheatish and darker ones because it is slightly whitish.

Burst:  This is a warm-toned highlight shade. This suits my Indian skin tone more than the previous one. However, I like Gleam more when you look at the pan. This shade is lightly pigmented and I generally apply two coats for a natural looking highlight.

Chisel:  This one is a contour shade and it is two shades darker than my original skin tone, which is perfect. This one least pigmented of the three shades which I think is okay in case of contour shade. It gives a perfect contoured jawline without overdoing where i might end up looking like a skeleton.

Overall, I give this palette a big thumbs up. This is a full palette for contour and highlight. If you have this one, you don’t need other shades.

Pros of Tarte Tarteist Pro Glow to Go Highlight and Contour Palette:

  • Three shades in this palette.
  • Comes with a mirror.
  • Nice pigmentation.
  • Travel friendly.
  • Full palette to do contouring and highlighting.

Cons of Tarte Tarteist Pro Glow to Go Highlight and Contour Palette:

  • There is no brush or applicator provided.

  1. It’s such a gorgeous handy palette. honestly, they could have just skipped the lightest shade and made it the one for medium to dusky skin tones. It would have been perfect. good and detailed review. i enjoyed watching it 🙂
