My Experience with Tarte Tartiest Creamy Matte Lip Paint Chill:

Tarte Tartiest Creamy Matte Lip Paint Chill Tube

Packaging: Tarte Tartiest Creamy Matte Lip Paint comes packaged in a gold and dark plum colored cardboard box with details printed in golden fonts all over it. The lipstick itself comes in a clear tube with a black cap. The name of the brand is engraved in gold fonts on the tube, and it also holds the shade name at the bottom. The doe foot applicator is precise, which facilitates easier application of the product.

Shade: The shade, “Chill” is the darkest vampy shade in this range. It is a deep dark plum color with a black violet undertone. It is a perfect fall color and will work across skin tones. This product has a gorgeous minty smell just like the Meet Matte Liquid Lipsticks from theBalm.

Formula: I love the formula of the Tarte lip paints. It is different from the regular liquid lipsticks. The lipstick is more like a whipped cream; it has a thick mousse consistency and feels as though we are applying a cream on the lips. It spreads easily and takes a little time to dry down. However, it doesn’t dry down completely, so it is not transfer proof. The lip paint has an insane pigmentation and provides a good coverage as well. The other shades which I have tried from this range provide an opaque coverage, but this particular shade looks a bit streaky and patchy and requires more coats to get full intensity and coverage. I think it looks streaky since it is a dark shade. However, it is not a true matte lipstick; it is more like a satin-powdery matte but, it looks great on the lips.

Staying Power: It stays for around 8 hours on my lips. It does survive meals and may start to fade a little after some time, but then it can be easily reapplied. It leaves a beautiful stain on the lips. Since it does not dry down to a complete dead matte finish, it feels very hydrating and comfortable on the lips. Also, it doesn’t cling onto dry patches. It feels very lightweight, and it’s almost like having nothing on my lips. This is my favourite part!

So overall, I think that this is not your regular classic liquid lipstick. It is more like a lip mousse which hydrates the lips, feels lightweight and doesn’t dry down to a completely matte finish. It provides a powdery matte finish and has a good pigmentation as well. Moreover, it is like a beautiful break from the regular, drying liquid lipsticks.

Pros of Tarte Tartiest Creamy Matte Lip Paint Chill:

  • Dark vampy plum color.
  • Creamy consistency.
  • Semi-satin matte finish.
  • Good pigmentation.
  • Long-lasting.
  • Super lightweight.
  • Minty smell.
  • Comfortable.

Cons of Tarte Tartiest Creamy Matte Lip Paint Chill:

  • Not transferproof.
  • Doens’t provide a true matte finish.
  • Doesn’t dry out completely.
  • Looks streaky and patchy.
