Make Teardrop Loop Earrings Using Paper: Do It Yourself
Hello ladies,
Today, I am going to show you a fun DIY. I got all excited after looking at the shower of DIY posts here and planned one. ย DIY articles are so much fun and interesting. Before I go ahead, I would like to thank Aparajita, for she inspired me through her DIY posts. ย Another person I would like to mention here is my sister. I am impressed with my sisterโs creativity. I have seen her making paper jewellery and also seen her use waste products to create such wonderful things. Well, this easy peasy earring made out of paper is her idea.
So, I am going to show you today how to make these earrings:
Things you need:
- Coloured paper strips.
- Wire Cutter.
- Nose plier.
- Jump rings.
- Fish hooks.
- Wire.
- Fevicol/paper glue.
Note:
I have used paper quilling strips (3 mm). If these quilling strips are not easily available for you, you can make these strips out of tinted sheets too. The length of the paper strip depends on the length and number of loops you wish to have. I have used 30 cm long strip.ย Also, fish hooks and jump rings are readily available at art and craft stores, but if you have an old pair of earrings you no longer use, then you can remove the jump rings and fish hooks of those earrings instead of throwing them away.
Procedure:
1. Take a coloured paper strip and apply glue to one end of the strip.
2. Now, bend it to form a loop in a teardrop shape. Try working with light hands and try not to pinch anywhere between the loop as it will ruin the shape.
3. Once again, apply glue at the start of the next loop.
4. Bend the strip going over the applied glue.
5. Next, apply glue on the other side where the second loop ends.
6. Repeat steps 3-5 and form the desired number of loops (I have made 7 loops).
7. Take a piece of wire, bend it a little and insert it through the first loop bending it over in either a circle or teardrop shape cutting away the excess wire with a wire cutter (you can also use a bigger jump ring here instead of making one with a wire).
8. Insert a jump ring in the fish hook.
9. Now, insert this jump ring in the wire loop formed in step 8.
You are done!
Her it is on my darling niece ๐
