The shades of these fruity lip glosses listed on The Body Shop website are absolute rubbish and not true to reality at all. So I suggest you get dolled up and get your swatching shoes on to head to the nearest The Body Shop outlet so find this fabulous clear plastic packaged lip gloss with a twist on secure cap. What makes this lip gloss super easy to apply is its slanted top which easily glides against your lips to delivery an even amount of product as you squeeze this on. I’m not sure if the colour is true to an actual Lychee, but it is a similar murky pink-nude-orange beige that Lychee skin and meat can sometimes get.

My experience with The Body Shop 05 Lychee Flavoured Lip Gloss :
Now I love when I hit the jackpot with a makeup or beauty product. And KA-CHING!! Here’s the jackpot! If I had to describe this lip gloss in one word, I would pick ‘brilliant’. This is a fantastic lip gloss- The Body Shop has a whole line of these fruity, cute and pocket friendly flavoured lip glosses that will give you no reason to complain. What even better is that these are transparent on application so layer away with your favourite lipstick to make it taste oh-so-good! The Vitamin E, Vitamin B5 and Community fair trade organic virgin coconut oil will do only good things for your lips living them kissably soft. This Lychee flavoured lip gloss is a hint of baby pink with a bit of an orangy nude thrown in, but that’s the colour in the tube and that’s not what you will get on your lips. They come off very transparent which I can see people with pigmented lips disliking. I have no idea where the colour disappears once you apply this, but these smell and taste so amazing that I don’t see anyone hating these! Even the other flavours are all different colours in the tube (both with and without glitter), but are all transparent on application.
The super power with this lip gloss is its ability to moisturize your lips. I have flaky dry lips and I’m very lazy about scrubbing and exfoliating mine regularly so in the last few days I’ve found myself turning to this product everyday! It doesn’t aggravate my dry lips and even the flakes seem to disappear once I apply this lip gloss. It’s just, like I said, brilliant! Lychee doesn’t have any shimmer or glitter elements to it, which is why I love layering this over lipsticks for that Megan Fox look. Some of the other flavours from this line do have shimmer and glitter, be warned and watch out! The staying power of this is so commendable, I didn’t feel the need to apply after a cuppa and even after food my lips felt so soft and supple. I’ve slept with this on and it was still there the next morning! Of course if you want to reapply for the high shine this gives off go right ahead! Another bonus is the expiry date printed on this product, I love when my life is made simpler this way because I know just when I need to throw this out and usually I’ll use that product a lot more when it’s closer to expiry.
This lip gloss doesn’t feel heavy in any way when it’s on your lips, the formula is smooth and hiccup free just gliding on your lips as you rub it on with the applicator. Also for those wondering, this formula is completely non sticky. Yes you will find that those few fly aways do not stick to your lips as easily when the wind blows and even if they do, it is easy to get your hair off your lips. This product is a brilliant dupe for the Lancôme Juicy Tubes too! I know they have the same parent company so maybe that is why. The Body Shop ones are cheaper anyway and with the 70% discount it’s a complete steal! Go, grab, save, enjoy!
