The Body Shop Absinthe Purifying Hand Butter Review

You pop in The Body Shop store, and you smell burst of speckled fragrances! From satsuma (my favourite!) to rose, from jasmine to coconut, and many others, you can get soaked in any one you want! Oh, so lovely! I always thought that The Body Shop products fragrances are quite feminine, fruity or flowery. But no! It is not the case always! They have come up with so many other ranges like almond, aloe, shea, seaweed, tea tree and Absinthe! While we love to indulge in many fruity and strong fragrances, it is also wonderful to try other distinct flavours which provide a different touch to your skin.

The Body Shop Absinthe Purifying Hand Butter details

Well, I am talking about one of the new products from Absinthe range which is the Purifying Hand Butter. In the past, I have dug my hands in hand cream and cleansing gel and I have really loved them. This time, when I was in TBS I tested the hand butter and I instantly purchased it. It has a texture of a body-butter; but it’s soft, light and non-greasy. This hand butter is typically packed in a body butter tub – it’s a light pale green screw top tub. As it is just 100 ml, it is convenient to fit into your beauty bag.

The product contents are filled with moisturising elements (so, who will complain about the product!). This hand butter is enhanced by moisturising contents like shea butter, cocoa seed butter, glycerine, and sesame seed oil, absinthe extract bundled with other moisturising contents and artificial flavours / colours. As it’s a TBS product, it is cruelty free and a few ingredients are with ‘fair trade’ mark.

My Experience with The Body Shop Absinthe Purifying Hand Butter:

Many of us still use body lotions for hands and fingers, but as our hands are exposed to so many materials and chemicals, we need to seek out a good hand cream which helps to retain the moisture and keep them velvety soft! Whether you are in kitchen dealing with strong odour food items and washing dishes or you are in office maintaining pile of work files, using hand cream is quite essential routine for all of us. And here is my rescue – Absinthe Purifying Hand Butter.

The impressive buttery texture of this product is simply incredible. It is little thick but it smoothly melts into the hands leaving no residue. However, you will feel a tinge of stickiness in your hands which will evaporate in a while. As, I LOVE this smell, I will not complain about this at all! It really disguises odour and dryness and keeps the hands fresh, silky and flushed throughout the day. I think this product functionality is little slow. Why? Well, though the smell is quite gentle, calm and tender unlike many TBS products, it takes its time to settle down into the skin. It has an enduring fresh zingy smell, and keeps the skin moisturised, smooth and constantly hydrated.

The Body Shop Absinthe Purifying Hand Butter product

Don’t know why, the smell reminds me of fresh cucumber! At times, it smells minty, but it’s not mint! Though the product is little thick, just a small amount is fine to keep your hands nourished for a day! I suggest you use it twice a day to keep your hands lusciously soft. The big advantage of this product is it’s not restricted to any age, or any skin type or tone. This can be used by anyone – a teenager, a homemaker, aunts or even males, as the fragrance is not at all girlly or tangy. By the way, my husband loves this very much!
