The Body Shop Brownie & Clyde Color Crush Eyeshadow Review

Eye makeup for me usually means eye liner and mascara. I rarely use an eye shadow, yet I own quite a few of them. Today, I’m reviewing one such eye shadow from TBS.It’s a single eye shadow and I picked it up as an impulse purchase from the store. So let’s see how it fares.

Price and quantity: INR 695 for 1.5 g (I got it at 50% discount for INR 348)

Product description:

An intensely pigmented, pearlescent or matte eye shadow (dependent on color) with a silky soft texture. It’s easy to blend and great for building layers of color. Dermatalogically and ophthalmologically tested. Suitable for contact lens wearers.

My experience with The Body Shop Brownie & Clyde Color Crush Eyeshadow:

The Body Shop color crush eye shadow comes in a cute little pan packaging. It has a flip top which is transparent with THE BODY SHOP printed over it. The shade code and name of the eye shadow is mentioned behind the pan. The packaging is sleek and convenient for travelling.

The shade name ‘Brownie and Clyde’ sounds so yum. Anything that says brownie is yum to me 😛 The shade is somewhere between brown and grey. On close inspection, it turns out that there is very tiny gold shimmer added to the eye shadow. The shade is perfect to create an intense look. Smoky eyes can also be created with this eye shadow though I didnot try because I’m not good at creating smoky eyes.

The product texture is fine and smooth. What bothers me is that it falls out a little during application which is trouble to get off later on. What I do is, sweep the brush over the shadow a little and puff the excess shadow from it and then apply it over my eyes. The shadow sets well enough. It’s not a waterproof eye shadow and water will drip the color from the eyes spoiling the entire face and therefore a good makeup remover is needed to wash off the eye shadow.

Overall, it’s a nice shade for everyday wear as well as for party occasions 😀

Cons of The Body Shop Brownie & Clyde Color Crush Eyeshadow:

• Falls out while application
• No application brush provided
• A little pricey without discount
• Makes the eye lids oily after removal of the eye shadow.

Will I repurchase The Body Shop Brownie & Clyde Color Crush Eyeshadow?

I am not very much into eye shadows, but if available at discount, I would love to experiment with new shades.
