The Body Shop Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter Review
If you use waterproof mascara, long-staying eyeshadows, waterproof eyeliner or something like Maybelline Colossal 12 hr kajal, you would agree with me about how difficult it is to take such makeup off at the end of the day. It’s such a messy affair and Maybelline Colossal kajal refuses to budge with normal rinse with water and face wash. It’s equally tough to get rid of waterproof sunscreens and long-staying foundations. With the usual makeup remover, I am never sure whether all makeup is out of my pores. I had earlier used Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm and was totally happy with the way it removed eye and face makeup. In the TBS store, I found out that TBS also has such a cleansing butter that’s suitable even for sensitive skin type. Here’s the review of this sumptuous cleansing butter.
Product Description:
This cleanser is an indulgent makeup remover for the whole face. It gently and efficiently melts away makeup and impurities, leaving skin feeling clean, refreshed and pampered. Gently melts away makeup, leaving skin feeling clean and petal soft. Removes all types of makeup. Suitable for sensitive skin and contact lens wearers.

Rs. 895 for 90 ml.

My Take on The Body Shop Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter:
This soft wax like balm in a semi-solid form comes in a sturdy tin. There’s not much scent to it, just a light fragrance that’s lovely. Though the texture of the butter is waxy, when you massage it on dry skin, it takes an oily form and glides on to the skin and melts away all makeup from the face and eyes. You do not need to vigorously massage it into the skin, just a few strokes of light massage, and all kinds of makeup just dissolves away. Next, you just to have to use a tissue or warm water to wipe away the dissolved makeup. It does not make the skin greasy or oily after the wipe, but I usually follow up with a face wash to make sure no residue is left behind.
It’s a great makeup remover, it removes the stubbornest of makeup, even the Maybelline Colossal in just one wipe. There’s a homemade kajal my friend gave me that doesn’t budge with an average face wash rinse, but with this butter, it clears away without creating any mess.
It’s completely safe on eyes, does not sting or cause any irritation. The butter does not sting the face or the eyes and does its job in a very gentle way.
Also, the balm efficiently removes other types of makeup such as foundation, primer, sunscreen, blush, etc. What it leaves behind is squeaky clean face.
Comparing this butter with Clinique’s Cleansing Balm, both work in the same way, by dissolving makeup and without harming skin, there’s no difference at all between the two except for the fragrance. Clinique’s cleansing balm is priced at Rs. 1900 for 125 ml and this one is priced at Rs. 895, you get a little extra from Clinique at a higher price. Both are great makeup removers for me.
The ingredient list comprises of shea butter, sunflower seed oil, and camomile flower extract. Camomile is well known for its calming and soothing properties on skin.
Coming to whether it will break out acne-prone skin type – no, it doesn’t. In fact, it will help you from not breaking out by preventing makeup from clogging the pores.
Overall, I vote it as a great product to take off makeup at the end of the day, whether it’s face makeup or stubborn eye makeup, this butter takes everything down gently without being harsh on the skin. I am going to repurchase it as long as I am going to use makeup.

Would I Repurchase The Body Shop Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter?
Yes, and if you ask me whether Clinique or TBS – though both are great at their job, I would pick TBS over Clinique because of the price factor.
