The Body Shop Early Harvest Raspberry Body Butter Review
This is the second product I am reviewing from TBS’s “Early Harvest Raspberry” range. I use body butters from TBS throughout the year, they are a staple for me. Let me tell you how this early harvest raspberry body butter is different from the other body butters that I have used and whether it’s any better or just the regular one with a different scent. Read on:
Product Description:
This rich and creamy body butter is this season’s must-have for silky smooth skin. It contains raspberries picked early to preserve their freshness and Community Fair Trade shea butter.

My Experience with The Body Shop Early Harvest Raspberry Body Butter:
TBS Early Harvest Raspberry body butter is a nice, pink-colored, thick textured body butter which smells strongly of strawberries actually. I would like to assume raspberries also smell like strawberries 😛 It’s an artificially added fragrance, very sweet, but no bothers, it doesn’t stay much after you spread the butter on the skin. It comes in the usual tub packaging which you can use later to store other stuff, tell me one thing, do you throw these cute tubs away?
This product has not been tested on animals, that’s another big plus, it’s cruelty free. Looking at the ingredients list, it has got cocoa seed butter, shea butter, glycerin, beeswax, sesame seed oil, brazil nut oil, raspberry seed oil, etc. and if this body butter fails to provide you moisturization, nothing ever will! It’s full of oils and butters, so those who have very oily body skin would have to stay away.
There’s a lot of body butter in the tub, I think it would last me 4 to 6 months easily. Since the butter is a bit thick, I only require a little quantity each time. The earlier butters that I have used from TBS – cocoa, pink grapefruit, strawberry, were not as thick as this one. Only the Brazil Nut body butter had the same consistency. This one feels a bit greasy on the skin for a few hours after application. It keeps my skin thoroughly moisturized for long hours, the winters have not arrived yet, but I believe, it would provide adequate moisturization during harsh winters too. In hot summer months, this type of thick textured butter would be a bad idea since it would grease up your skin quickly.
The best thing is that it smoothes out dry patches on the skin and keeps skin moisturized throughout the day without the need for reapplication. It’s really good to soften the rough skin on elbows and knees and can even relieve itchiness of the skin due to excessive dryness.
Overall, I feel that it’s a body butter mainly for winters. If you want something lighter, you should probably check out the body lotion from the same range.
Summing up the pros and cons:
Pros of The Body Shop Early Harvest Raspberry Body Butter:
- Sweet fruity fragrance of strawberries…..oops raspberries.
- Texture is quite thick, but spreads easily on the skin.
- Smoothes out dry and rough patches.
- Good to soften rough skin of elbows and knees.
- Makes skin soft.
- Keeps skin moisturized throughout the day.
Cons of The Body Shop Early Harvest Raspberry Body Butter:
- Since it greases up a bit, would not be suitable for hot days.
- The scent is kind of artificial, some may not like how it smells.
Would I Repurchase The Body Shop Early Harvest Raspberry Body Butter?
This is going to last me for a long time, for months! Would purchase again, maybe in next winter season.
