Price : Rs. 1,295 for 28 ml

This is for the first time I am trying a foundation from The Body Shop and I have to give thumbs up to them for the incredible job they have done with this stuff.

If you have

Dry / Mature Skin-> love dewy makeup -> looking for an excellent medium coverage foundation for winters ->  pick up The Body Shop Extra Virgin Minerals Liquid Foundation.

I tried this range of makeup some months back during my photoshoot with The Body Shop and I knew I had to pick it up when it launches.

Texture & Feel : Very emollient and creamy. Spreads like a dream. I personally liked using it more with foundation brushes than with my finger tips.

Finish & Coverage : It gives a dewy finish. I definitely feel the need to powder my face after using this. It is a medium coverage foundation and it is a very good coverage, imo. I have used this foundation HERE You can use it every single day . It does not give that heavy , made up coverage. It looks quite close to natural. It does not get cakey or feels heavy. It photographs pretty well but I wouldn’t suggest to use it for flash photography. It has SPF 30 , which protects you from sun but also is not ideal for flash photos.

Shades Available : It is available in 8 shades and the undertones range from yellow, neural and pink. So there is something for everyone. The one I have is 202 natural vanilla, which has yellow undertones and is a shade lighter than my skintone. But I do bring it to my original shade by mixing a darker shade of concealer.

Staying Power :  It stays all day long but I do feel the need to powder my face once during the day. It has a tendency to get shiny after a few hours but once you powder, it goes on pretty well through out the day.

Packaging : It comes in a pretty simple mess free pump glass bottle. The pump works pretty well and is quite useful.

Goody Good Stuff : It is paraben free and fragrance free.

If you have oily / combination skin , this is not the product for you. It is very creamy and emollient foundation, best suited for normal-dry skin beauties who are looking for dewy finish. I do feel the need to powder my face once during the day but other than that I found it quite impressive.

    1. Good morning Rati. How goes it for you this morning?

Thanks for the review. I love Body Shop and was quite curious about this one when I saw it but since mine is a normal to oily skin, this is not for me.

      1. aruna,

i am having quite a mad morning actually. 😛 painters have taken over my bedrom and house looks like a mess right now. the good thing is that my living room is ready and i cant wait to do FOTDs here. It’s orange and white… loving the happy colors around me :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:

how is your day coming along. 🙂

my day so far so good. nothing major happening. but no news is good news sometimes 🙂

          1. on just one wall. sanjeev and i both like lots of white in the house. it just feels peaceful and positive ,imho. 😀 yeah ishaallah it would be good news at your end. :puchhi: have a good day. :))

            1. hope you have loads of luck and happiness with everything new around. and those positive vibes you can just feel it sometimes so best wishes.

  10. Hi Rati,
    Thanks for the review.

Well, guess what. After reading the review, I just went ahead and bought it during my lunch hour 😉 Can’t wait to try it on.

What powder do you use to set the foundation?

    Love,
    NWG

  11. Great! The SA did try the powder on top of the foundation. But I wasn’t too sure if it’ll make my skin flake (I’ve pathetically dry and flaky skin). So, I decided to postpone that purchase to a later day 🙂

I do want to take a minute and let you know what a wonderful job IMBB is doing. I’ve been following the blog for several months now even though I don’t use make-up on an everyday basis. But, IMBB inspires me to do so. So, thank you 🙂

    1. awww!! thanks NWG. I also have dry skin so i keep a look out for stuff that provides some kind of moisture and hydration to my skin. i’d review the powder . That may help you decide. 🙂 You can keep a bottle of thermal water handy with you . It prevents any kind of flakiness or dryness during the day. 🙂

Do comment sometimes. It’s feels nice. 🙂
