The Body Shop Flushed All-In-One Cheek Colour Review

By Deepti Sangani

Hello beauties!

So, we are quickly nearing Easter! The winter is almost sliding out and we all are waiting for the spring to blossom (though, it will stay just for a while!). We are also looking forward to the fashion and beauty industry that would be all set to launch Spring/Summer collection. Bright colours, new products and different looks! Woohoo! While everyone is gearing up for new products, I am happy with this product that I had purchased in January.

The Body Shop Flushed All-In-One Cheek Colour Review

Today, I am reviewing The Body Shop Flushed All-In-One Cheek Colour. For a very long time, I was looking for a warm peach or light plum blush that would look apt for office and parties both. After checking out Maybelline, L’Oreal, Revlon and Bourjois, I finalised this superb shade from The Body Shop (TBS).

The All-in-one Cheek Colour (blush actually) collection introduced endearing 8 shades covering all skin tones. They don’t have a plum shade, but they have definitely hosted a couple of soothing pinks and peaches. After trying a few shades in the store, I really got so confused that I left the store without a purchase. But, I was sure that I will buy a TBS blush because of the gentle and chic finish to the products. Honestly, it’s fun experimenting with eye shadows and lipsticks, but when it comes to blushes, I test a lot to tick the right and perfect shade(Who wants to look like a clown?).

The very next day, I went back to the store and that’s the benefit of having TBS just 5 minutes away from work place. 😛 Finally, after trying 6 shades, I chose ‘Flushed’. The SA was also quite happy as I had troubled her a lot regarding the shades.

My Experience with The Body Shop Flushed All-In-One Cheek Colour:

The blush, like all the other TBS products, comes in a standard packaging. No frills and fancies, just the product. It is packed in a handy, lightweight plastic pan with a transparent plastic lid.

Flushed is a peachy-pink shade with subtle hints of gold shimmer. The shimmer is fairly apparent on the pot and when applied to the cheeks, it gives a subtle, delicate golden tint that revitalizes your face. But, don’t worry the shimmer is quite light and seamless for daily make up. The shade is more inclined towards heavier tones of pink than peach. The pigmentation is a little light, but blends well with my medium skin tone. For dramatic effects, you can apply a little more to increase the intensity.

I have noticed that the staying power is not that extensive. It doesn’t halt on my cheeks for more than 4-5 hours. But, that’s fine with me. It’s a fragrance free product and is basically a blush powder ideal for my oily skin. It has a huge content of Marula oil to enrich the product with its hydrating and smoothing properties. The oil hails from Namibia and as mentioned on the TBS website, the Marula tree is held to be sacred to the people of Ovamboland (In Northern Namibia) and Namibian women have traditionally used Marula oil for generations to smooth and moisturise their skin. Quite interesting! Isn’t it?

The oil upshot is definitely not greasy the entire day. It is quite rich and thick and provides a soft feel to the skin. I just admire how this blush gives a velvety polish to your appearance and it’s only justified when you choose the right brand, right product and right shade. When applied appropriately, the best thing about this blush is that it adds a charming spunk to the face.

Application:

Dab the blush brush on the pot and gently apply on the cheeks in circles. But, before applying the blush, it’s mandatory to know where is it apt to apply the blush as per the face shape. Without any hitch, I asked the staff assistant to advise me on the application. As I have a round face, she advised me to apply little below the apple of my cheeks (not at all on cheek bones!) sweeping upwards to my temples, but leaving space above the cheekbones. This works well as it provides a perfect illusion to make the face appear longer and allows enough space for the highlighter.

In addition to this, on one of my experimental days, I have tried this shade as an eyeshadow as well and it looked good. Personally, I feel that this shade is the one of the most common shades used as my fair to medium complexion welcomed it with open arms. I have been using it for two months now and I am quite happy with it. I wanted to buy a plum or peach shade, but the combination of pink and peach with soft shimmer is a good bout to vouch for.

Pros of The Body Shop Flushed All-In-One Cheek Colour:

• Despite being a powder blush, it isn’t drying.
• Blends perfectly.
• Shimmer, shimmer and shimmer! But, subtle and elegant.
• It’s a TBS product, so it’s tender, natural and not at all harsh to skin.
• Looks brilliant for a boardroom meeting, dinner party or a weekend getaway!
• Wonderful combination of peach and pink.

Cons of The Body Shop Flushed All-In-One Cheek Colour:

• Compared to other upper mid-range products, it’s a little expensive (£2-3 more).
• Personally, I didn’t observe a long staying power.
• There should have been a mirror attahced to it.

IMBB Rating:

4.5 out of 5

Would I Repurchase/Recommend The Body Shop Flushed All-In-One Cheek Colour?

This is undoubtedly a stunning shade with a warm finish. But, I would purchase a different shade next time to add a variety to my collection. Well, if you are looking for a refined peachy blush, please go for it! I liked this product because of the shimmer element. And, if you pretties don’t want shimmer, you can still try other shades from this range.
