My Experience with The Body Shop Fresh Nude Foundation:
This is my first foundation from TBS and I didn’t know what to expect. To my surprise, it turned out to be good and I am really liking it. The brand claims that this is a lightweight and breathable foundation, hence I wanted to try it on my combination skin. This foundation is available in 16 shades, ranging from light porcelain to deep mahogany. For my skin, I chose the shade ‘Yucatan Honey 055’, which matched me perfectly at the store. This product comes housed in a glass bottle with an easy to use pump dispenser.
The ultimate goal of applying a foundation is to get a flawless skin that looks natural and not cakey. And, this foundation gives the most natural and dewy finish. The formula of this foundation is infused with English rose water and 100% organic aloe vera to hydrate and soothe the skin. It contains SPF 15 for added sun protection. It has a slightly runny texture but it’s not watery. It is very easy to blend and sinks into the skin flawlessly. It is a lightweight formula which feels very hydrating and comfortable without clogging the pores.
This foundation imparts light coverage but it is buildable. A second layer of foundation imparts medium coverage but still you’ll require a concealer to hide skin flaws. The foundation, as claimed, gives a semi-matte finish but it is more on the dewy side. Hence, I feel that this foundation requires to be set with a setting powder. The staying power is good; it lasts almost 6-8 hours on my skin but not more than that since it offers natural finish. This foundation is a boon for dry skin since it’s infused with aloe vera and rose water. It really keeps the skin hydrated and luminous.
This foundation will work well on combination skin as well if it’s set with a setting powder but I am not sure how it will fare on oily skin. If you have mature skin, you’ll adore this foundation as it does not settles into the fine lines and wrinkles. The hydrating and soothing formula ensures that your skin remains fresh and youthful throughout the day. I really like the natural and skin-like finish that this foundation provides. It is like “my skin but better”.
