The Body Shop Glazed Apple Body Butter Review
I have always hated winters so much so that I always tried to avoid visiting my native during winter months. Since childhood, I have never liked the weather and always used to be on the terrace basking in the glory of sun. 😀 Then I moved to Bangalore for my job and loved it…mainly because of the weather since it was never too cold in Bangalore. And finally, as luck would have it, we moved to Minnesota for my hubby’s assignment and this place is a freezer, literally. Though we do not feel cold inside our homes due to heaters, but this in turn is making my skin worse. They really dry out the skin and it has taken a toll on my already dry skin. So, body butters come to my rescue. I have never tried body butters while in India, but here I am loving them. They provide a bit of relief to my dry, parched skin. So today I am going to review a body butter which I am loving these days- the Body Shop Glazed Apple Body Butter.
The Glazed Apple range is a part of the seasonal festive range from the Body Shop. They have an entire range from Body Butter to Body Wash, hand cream and everything.
It comes in the standard Body Shop Body Butter tub packing, which is a bit unhygienic considering that we have to dip our hands to take the product out, but I still feel that this is the best packaging for body butters given their consistency. It would be tough squeezing them out from the tube.
My Experience with The Body Shop Glazed Apple Body Butter:
I have super duper dry skin which turns “snake skin” in winters..no..I am not kidding!!! My skin really looks like it has scales everywhere, very close resemblance to snake skin. 😛 So, I am always on the lookout for moisturizers which could give some relief to my troubled skin, and body butters come to my rescue!
The Body Shop Glazed Apple Body Butter smells just amazing, I love its fragrance. It faintly smells of green apples and has a fresh fruity smell. When I sniffed it at the store, I felt like eating it, smells so delicious!!! The consistency is not too thick and is easy to spread. I use it straight after the shower and it readily absorbs in my skin without leaving any greasy layer. It leaves my skin soft and deliciously smelling, but the smell doesn’t stay for long, maximum only for half an hour. Sad 🙁
The Body Shop describes Glazed Apple Body Butter as a product which will provide hydration for 24 hours and is apt for all skin types. While it does leave my skin soft and supple, it is not sufficient for my extremely dry feet. My feet were dry again just after a couple of hours. Apart from this, I tested it with a scratch test for the 24-hour hydration claim 😉 and full marks for skin on my arms and body, it was hydrated.
Overall, it would suit all skin types. Since it’s not greasy, it would suit oily skinned beauties too.
Pros of The Body Shop Glazed Apple Body Butter:
- Leaves skin soft and smooth.
- Does not leave a greasy layer on the skin.
- Amazing fragrance.
- Would suit all skin types.
Cons of The Body Shop Glazed Apple Body Butter:
- Contains silicones (may be a con for some).
- Limited edition (I wish TBS makes it their permanent range).
- Did nothing much for my extremely dry feet.
5/5 (I forgive it for making my feet dry since very few creams are able to hydrate them).

This apple body butter sounds so good – in winters tbs body butters work the best, I agree 🙂

Screams Fall and Winter! 😀 Such a lovely name! 🙂 Nicely reviewed!
The light green packaging is so cute! I also hate the fact that it come in a tub 🙁 I use the Honeymania body butter and it smells soooo delicious! It’s only the warning on it that makes me stop from eating it :p
