The Body Shop Glazed Apple Hand Cream Surely Smells Heavenly

The Body Shop, Glazed Apple Hand Cream Review

by Madhuri V.

Hello everyone,

I have been a silent reader of this blog for a long time now. I credit all my makeup knowledge to IMBB and all you beautiful people here. This is my first ever review. I was recently at the mall and a chance encounter with a friend led me to the always so tempting The Body Shop store. I can never have enough of them. I saw this new range of products that are a part of their Christmas edition and fell in love with the Glazed Apple range. I am reviewing today the Glazed Apple Hand Cream that I recently brought.

Ingredients:

Glazed apple hand cream

Price:

450 INR for 30 ml.

My Experience with The Body Shop, Glazed Apple Hand Cream:

To start with, the hand cream has this really pleasant fragrance to it. This being my first ever hand cream from TBS, I wanted to try it for a week to see if it really works for me. The hand cream does not have a very runny texture. It is plain white in color and not sticky or oily. The cream gets absorbed into the skin pretty easily, without any oily residue.

The cream smells very candy apple type (if you know what I mean!). It makes you want to eat your hands. I noticed it did not do much for my dry hands. The cream is not very hydrating for me. The packaging is very cheap I could say. It comes in a Borolin type tube with a black cap. It is travel friendly though. My hands never get too dry, but this cream has not done them any good either. I had to keep reapplying it every three hours or so unlike the Natio hand cream (review coming up soon). I have very tanned hands due to the entire Scooter riding in the sun, but the hand cream is not in any way helpful for tan reduction. This product does not have any SPF, so don’t expect much on the protection side.

The quantity of the product included is very less for the price charged. After using the hand cream for a week I have not noticed any significant difference in my hands and their dryness, but yes they have been smelling heavenly and have definitely become a little bit supple if not silky smooth. The product might not be a great option for anyone who is looking for some serious hydration for their hands or for anyone with very dry hands, but it is a good product for someone who wants just a bit of hydration and more yummy smelling hands. The application is easy.

Pros of The Body Shop, Glazed Apple Hand Cream:

  • Smells heavenly.
  • Travel friendly packaging.
  • Does not leave an oily film after application.
  • Quickly gets absorbed.
  • Good for normal skin. Dry skin beauties might not like it.

Cons of The Body Shop, Glazed Apple Hand Cream:

  • Not very hydrating.
  • No SPF.
  • Needs to be reapplied every few hours.
  • Contains alcohol.
  • No proper packing.
  • Comes in an open tube, no cellophane or box packing.
  • Expensive for the quantity being offered.

Would I repurchase The Body Shop, Glazed Apple Hand Cream?

Yes, but for the heavenly fragrance of glazed apples. For the hydration part I guess my Natio one is better.

IMBB Rating:

3.8/5

Conclusion: I am buying this one for the fragrance of it. I have to keep reminding myself not to eat it. But to tend to my dry hands in this suddenly cold winter of Mumbai I am relying on my other hand cream.
