The Body Shop Mango Sugar Body Scrub Review

By Malyatha K.

I am absolutely in love with the scrubs from The Body Shop and it was a complete no-brainer that I bought the mango one after I emptied my last one. I NEED scrubs during winters, for my hands and feet as it exfoliates all the dry and dead skin away. It makes removing hair so much easier and leaves my skin looking soft and smooth.

TBS is always running discounts and sales like Buy 3, Get 3, or 40% off, so you can always get a nice deal. I think this is one brand where I love EVERYTHING they have. Their skin care had some gems that one wouldn’t even find at high-end stores. Anyway, let me review this amazing scrub for you today!

First the packaging, it comes in a bright yellow tub with a giant mango on it, which will surely brighten up any bathroom shelf. I don’t mind the tub in the shower because my hands are obviously clean, and I have used scrubs which come in tube form and they always clog at the opening, which is a pain. So, this tub gets a thumbs up from me.

The texture of the scrub is slightly slimy with fine particles, not too soft like face scrubs but nice and not too harsh or scratchy. I feel it’s just right to slough off all those dead skin cells.

It always leaves me with a nice clean feel and my skin is supple and balanced. I always moisturise after showering, but somehow, this doesn’t leave my skin thirsting for moisture immediately. That’s a huuuuge plus from me.

I realise that not all people like to use scrubs. You might use them only when it’s cold, or when you have really dry skin. But if you shave your legs or use any other method of hair removal, specially on your legs, I highly recommend exfoliating deeply one day before you do so. You will see a noticeable difference in the way your skin feels. I never did this before, but once I started, I have made this a routine.

The product itself smells great, like a big juicy mango and always tempts me to bite into one later. This is a great fragrance for summers and spring. It’s not too strong that it lingers on post-shower, but I don’t think that’s a major concern for me. I love this flavour too!
