Today I am going to review a product which I have been religiously testing for the last few days. Dark spots are a major concern for many of us and I had picked this up on sale when it was half the price. At that price point, I really didn’t mind giving this a shot. My Experience With The Body Shop Moisture White Shiso Concentrated Target Perfector:
Packaging: This comes in a slim, small tube with a roller ball applicator. The applicator doles out a few drops of product, which is all I really need for coverage. It is a white coloured plastic tube, nothing fancy, just plain old Body Shop. There is absolutely no fragrance or texture to the product. It is just like water. It is colourless and odorless. I suppose I should taste it to see if it’s water or not, but I gave that a pass. 😛
First of all, a little homework needs to be done to understand where this product would fit in your skin care routine. This is a target treatment product and it is a very light, almost water-like formula. For this reason, I always apply this first on my cleansed skin. I follow this with serum, moisturizer and sunscreen. Applying it first will let it sink into the skin better.
I personally have two kinds of dark spots that I used this for. I have hormonal acne during my time of the month and that almost always leaves scars. I also have other random dark spots on the right side of my cheek. I have no clue what they are, and I have mostly ignored them so far. But off late, I thought I should address them and I am just beginning to dig deeper. I have since found out that it is because of lot of sun exposure. I never used proper sun protection back in India and I am suffering the consequences now. *sad face*
I just want to take a moment to emphasize how important sunscreen is for skin.
On my acne scars, I have noticed considerable fading over the last 6 weeks. The spots are getting smaller and lighter although none have completely vanished. I think I need to give it more time.
