What I love about The Body Shop Nature’s Minerals Foundation Brush?

  • It is dense brush so it picks up the powder quite well.
  • The handle is firm and sturdy so you get a decent control while using it.
  • It is so soft, I just cannot explain it in words. It is like a velvet against your skin. I have got so many brushes but nothing is comparable to this.
  • The bristles are so nicely packed that they just flex just as much I want them to. It gives me a control over how much product is going on my face.
  • It comes with a cute black pouch so I can just throw it in my bag and carry around. The flap is not tight so I just put a rubber band around it.
  • It is decently priced as compared to the other brands. MAC 182 buffer brush – Rs 2450 and Inglot Kabuki brush is around Rs 1800
  • I have washed it thrice. It shed some bristles the first time I washed bit but nothing in my second or third wash.
  • You can use it to apply pressed powder, loose powder or mineral foundation. It would just give you the perfect results.Β  You can check out my video on Basic Foundation Tutorial to see how I use this brush.

  1. deary dear! made a note of it! cant tell u how much i liked this…. as i said, u r a blessing in disguise…

so kind of u, sexy πŸ™‚

    1. Aww!! It is such an amazing brush. I keep touching it on my face and I end up blending more than it is required. lol!! This is like a wonder brush. πŸ™‚

        1. oh!! when I swatched it , it was quite a scratchy brush and that’s why I didn’t buy it. Guess that must be the case with only the tester brush.

  2. When I was in karachi earlier this month, I went to TBS,so I could buy their mineral foundation,SA handed me this brush and OMG I was in LOVE. In fact I even tweeted about it that I forgot all about foundation and so wanted to buy it. I use ELF kabuki ,I love it but this brush Is something else, its phenomenal. It was out of stock at that moment and was around 2300rs.I might ask my cousin to send it frm uk :p

    1. This brush is out of the world. I wasn’t expecting it to be so good. I bought it only because I didn’t have a kabuki brush and my powder brush had gone way too old. Moreover every other brands is selling kabuki brushes at million dollar rates. So this fitted perfectly in my budget. I think I would even end up buying a back up for this one. πŸ˜›

2300??? What is it with Pakistan stores ? πŸ˜€

  3. This is super cute! πŸ™‚ I totally <3 kabukis just for their cuteness factor πŸ˜›

I watched the Foundation tutorial and could almost FEEL the softness of the brush as you blended! πŸ˜€

      1. Yep, I loved it! I’m a complete make-up newbie, starting right from scratch – and your tutorial was really, really informative! πŸ™‚

Also, love your nose-stud! I’ve been wanting to get one for ages, but my mum always tells me to wait a little bit more πŸ™ πŸ™

        1. oh thanks. πŸ˜› My mom always thought that a nose stud wold never suit me but you know when you are a teenager you want to do all the things that you parents say no to. πŸ˜› So I went with my friends and got my piercing done. πŸ˜€ Then my mom was left with no choice but to give me tips on how to take care of my piercing lol!!

Piercings are like red lipsticks. Once you get used to how they look on you , you end up falling in love with them. πŸ™‚ All the best and you may convince your mom by saying that you will wear a very small stud that would almost be invisible. May be it works. πŸ˜‰

          1. No kabuki brushes for me im just not a powder gurl..

Even i have a nose piercing.. got it done as a surprise for my Bf. we were in gk market and i just told him i’ll go and get maggi for us from the nescafe shop but instead went into silofer and got it done.. and he was just soooo happy..!!! now he wants to see me wearing a nose ring.. im thinking of buying one just for him.. cant wear it on daily basis, i will look too cunning and bitchy wearing it i’m so damn sure..
i got my nose piercing done twice.. the first time i had to remove it and then when i wore it after some days. the piercing was blocked. Damn..!! and dont know whether its me or with evryone.. when i get a nose piercing done.. i always get cold and then wiping your nose is like going thru torture..

Have you ever tried wearing a nose ring..??

            1. I also go to silofer. His prices are increasing at jet rocket speed and he keeps cribbing about “mehngaai”. πŸ˜› My mom think si would look “gawaar” with nose ring. However I am sure that I would be able to pull it off. πŸ˜› Guess it’s high time I should give it a try. lol!!

If your piercing is new, it can close within 3o-40 minutes if you remove the pin. So I guess that happened with you also.

          2. @Rati

It’s not even about the suiting-my-face-bit with my mum! She’s all we have to pick an “auspicious” day to buy the gold/diamond stud and get my nose pierced. Siiiiiighh πŸ™‚ She and my grand mum got all traditional about it!

And Red Lipsticks! They’re my ultimate beauty fantasy – the perfect red lips! πŸ˜€

            @Priyanka

Not to worry, you’re not the only one out there! πŸ™‚ Couple of my friends got their nose pierced and this happened to them too. =)

            1. aww!! that’s cute. I also got an exclusive nose pin as a wedding gift from my mum-in-law but i don’t wear it because I like to keep changing my nose rings and I enjoy wearing the colourful ones. πŸ™‚

  4. Hey! Where did my comment go? It was here yesterday??

Anyways, It looks real cute and is quite affordable too considering others in its range.. I don’t like powder foundations – but if i do get some will get this brush..

btw havn’t been able to see your video – foundation tu. yet.. will catch it today or tomo πŸ™‚

    1. Errr… is wordpress also eating comments now. πŸ˜€ I have not come across a brush as soft as this one. It is completely beyond my expectations. I hace stared applying my compact powder with this one he he πŸ˜› Do check it out.

Watch the video whenever you get time. πŸ™‚

  5. Been eyeing this brush for ages now. Every time I go to the store, I pick this up and then put it back – not sure if I really need it, but I definitely want it πŸ™‚ And tx for giving a price comparison too..it was almost like you sat and answered all my questions!! Now I have to go and check the foundation video..I have so many posts to catch up.

  6. You know why I keep putting it back – I want a longer handle! Is there a similar brush with a longer handle. MAC 182 is also short handled right? Is there some reason they are all chutku handles like that? Also wanted to ask you, I have this Max Factor cream foundation, any recommendations on any brush I can use for it? I have to always remember to wash my hands and it would be nice if a brush could do the job instead. Hope my question-comment isn’t too long!

    1. I have no idea about the chutku handles. lol!! MAC 182 is a chtku brush again.

You may use a stippling brush. Colorbar, Ambika Pillai, MAC (MAC 187) , Inglot all of them have it. Stippling brush works great for cream foundations but you just have to blend well so that you foundation is not streaky. You may spray a little rose water on the brush before , this would help the foundation glide better on your skin and would avoid any kind of cakiness. Just stipple the foundation all over your face with the brush and then blend it round and round. Once you are done with the bending, just set the foundation with a powder.

Don’t ever bother about the long comments. We are here to learn from each other. πŸ™‚

  7. Thanks for the reply. I will check at Colorbar. 187 is pretty expensive isn’t it? Just about everyone says so, but sometimes I feel with a good brush that’s going to last ages it might be worth it too..

    1. It’s actually worth it. It’s very expensive but I was willing to buy it. Just that it is not available in Delhi from past 5-6 months. πŸ™ So I got the Ambika Pillai one. It’s soft and nice but yet to give it some more test and try before giving the verdict.

  8. uiii .. this brush looks damn cute !!
I think , after your review , I must get it .. oh, I can imagine the softness πŸ˜€
Btw How much is the ambika pillai one ?
and can you list the stores where we can find them , apart from Citywalk ?

    1. Ambika Pillai has two kiosks that i know of one in DT and other in City Walk. Don’t know of any other , it’s not even mentioned anywhere. πŸ™ If I go to saket in a few days I will find that out. The brush is for Rs 750 and it is good for its price. Actually I bought this coz colorbar and mac have been out of stippling brush from past many months. πŸ™

You will love the TBS brush. I proudly show it to everyone who comes to my house. he he. πŸ˜›

  9. Hi Rati,

Thanks for the great basic foundation tutorial! Loved the tip about using warm hands to set your foundation πŸ™‚
And I totally agree with your descriptions about this brush! It is sooo soft I can’t stop going a few more rounds on my face when i’m using it πŸ˜€ but recently I attempted to wash it and it didn’t seem to take too well to it πŸ™ it got quite stiff and rigid and i’m heartbroken! I’m wondering if you might know how i could possibly rescue it? How do you wash it properly without causing it to lose the fluffy soft feel?
