Eyes are one of the most sensitive parts of our body and the sooner we start including eye care in our beauty regimen, the better. Some of the eye issues which people face are dark circles, wrinkles, dryness and puffiness. The product that I am reviewing today – The Body Shop Nutriganics Smoothing Eye Cream claims to smoothen the eye area. Let’s see how it fares.
$21.00 for 0.5oz/ 15 ml.
Best if you want to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles with a gentle lightweight treatment that smoothes and softens the delicate skin around the eye area. Opthamologist tested.
How it works:
- Community Trade organic babassu oil from Brazil smoothes and revitalizes skin.
- Organic red grape from France, plantain and elder flower from Switzerland blend helps improve skin tone and texture.
- Organic buddleja and thyme from Switzerland help protect the skin.
- Essential oils and natural fragrances combine to create a gentle fragrance.
How to use:
Apply a small amount onto the tip of your ring finger and gently dab in an outward motion along the cheek bone and brow bone.
This product comes in a pump bottle which is quite convenient as it releases only desired quantities of the product. The cap shuts tight and the bottle is definitely travel friendly.
My Experience with The Body Shop Nutriganics Smoothing Eye Cream:
I am in my mid-30s and had started noticing that the area around my eyes was looking dull. There is no sign of the dreaded crow’s feet yet, but I wanted to start using some eye cream which reduces (or delays) the appearance of wrinkles.
I have been using TBS Nutriganics Smoothing Eye Cream regularly every night for the past 4 weeks now, as per the instructions. The cream is quite light and gets absorbed into the skin pretty easily. It moisturizes the under eye area quite well and gives a nice hydrated feeling. It does make my under eye area smooth and refreshed. It does not do anything for the dark circles, but then it never claimed to do so in the first place.
The fragrance is pleasant – slightly herbal/earthy, but not overpowering. You will notice this is the same fragrance as some of the other products from the Nutriganics line. Overall, I would say it is a nice eye cream which provides hydration and nourishment to the under eye area, but if you are looking for something to get rid of stubborn dark circles or deep wrinkles, this might not be it.
Pros of The Body Shop Nutriganics Smoothing Eye Cream:
- Hydrates the under eye area well.
- Light and non-greasy, gets absorbed easily.
- Pleasant fragrance.
- Hygienic and convenient pump packaging.
- Certified organic ingredients.
Cons of The Body Shop Nutriganics Smoothing Eye Cream:
- Not effective on dark circles.
- Expensive, I am sure there are other products which give you a better bang for your buck.
Would I Repurchase The Body Shop Nutriganics Smoothing Eye Cream?
This is not a bad product per se, but it is nothing extraordinary. I would not repurchase and instead try out some other eye creams in the market. If you are on the lookout for a basic cream to moisturize the under eye area which does not have any harmful ingredients, you could surely try it out.
