Hello lovely people!
I am writing after a looong time. This time it’s a new launch by The Body Shop (TBS). I am a skincare addict and when I saw this new range called Oils of Life in the store, I had to try it!
Price: Rs 2095 for 50 ml
My Take on The Body Shop Oils of Life™ Intensely Revitalizing Cream:
This rich cream comes in a beautiful glass jar with a huge cap. I read somewhere that TBS is entering the luxury segment with this Oils of Life range; I think that’s why the black and gold packaging. It actually looks beautiful!
The texture is thick and really smooth, and melts like butter on your skin. If you have used Organic Surge Super-Intensive cream, then you know what consistency I am talking about. Now don’t start comparing the two, as the only similarity is the consistency :P.
My combination skin becomes gravely dry in winters and needs extra nourishment. I was looking for a highly moisturizing night cream (though this is not a night cream and can be used both in the mornings and evenings) for winters and I have found one in this. When I first looked at the texture, I thought I’ll have to massage it endlessly. Also, its main ingredient is olive oil along with three other seed oils, so I thought it will be like applying oil on your face.
But it took me by surprise. This absorbs amazingly well without leaving any oily layer or greasiness on your skin. There is a subtle healthy glow on your face minus the stickiness of heavy creams. It makes your skin really supple and soft. Right now I can’t say about the 4-week anti-aging claim as it’s just been few days since I am using this, but I’ll definitely update you on this. One difference that I do have noticed is that it has smoothened out my skin. My skin is not bumpy or rough anymore. It removes all the annoying dry, itchy patches on my skin, especially on the chin area. I would like to mention here that the pea-sized amount (as the directions to use say) won’t be enough for your dry skin; you’ll definitely need more!
The fragrance is very different, not your usual floral scent. It’s actually spicy. Have you ever sniffed roasted cumin? It smells like that! But it’s very wintery and warm. I love it 🙂
Overall, I am really happy with this purchase. It may seem a little expensive, but it’s worth the money. I find it to be better than Forest Essentials Eternal Youth cream that I have used in the past.
Pros of The Body Shop Oils of Life™ Intensely Revitalizing Cream:
• Has the goodness of Cumin seed oil, Rosehip oil, and Camellia seed oil.
• Rich texture moisturizes skin amazingly.
• No oily feeling after application; absorbs really well.
• Removes all dry patches.
• Smells warm and wintery.
• Gives a subtle glow to skin.
Cons of The Body Shop Oils of Life™ Intensely Revitalizing Cream:
• Packaging not travel friendly; the glass jar is heavy.
• A little pricey.
IMBB Rating: 4/5 (deducting 1 for the glass jar)
Would I Repurchase/Recommend The Body Shop Oils of Life™ Intensely Revitalizing Cream?
I am not sure about repurchasing as I am always looking for better skincare products; I may come back to this if I fail though! But I do recommend this to the dry-skinned people. You’ll love this!
